Thank you Hamilton! Last night we saw community come together to show survivors they are not alone. We took up space and asserted that Consent is Everyone’s Right. Thank you to every person who came out, to every person who spread the word even if they couldn’t come, to the musicians, to the speakers, to the artist, to everyone who worked the event, to the community organizations, to the Indigenous market vendors, to all of our day volunteers and marshals, to the committee members who have been working for months to make this possible. We are proud to be a part of this community and proud of last night. We will create a world free of violence. 💖

Today we Take Back the Night! 🌙✨

Here are some things to know about what to expect tonight. We hope you will join us starting at 6pm at the Hamilton City Hall Forecourt!

Take Back the Night is an annual event that has been happening in Hamilton for over 45 years and continues to happen every September all over the world.
Our goal is to denounce sexual violence, gender based violence and street harassment while providing a space for empowerment and solidarity with survivors.
We will have a gathering with community tables, an Indigenous market, live music, activities, giveaways, and more!
Following that we will rally with speeches from community members who will speak on our theme. And then the most iconic. part of the night we march with signs and chants through the streets to take up space and assert ours rights to live safely!

Indigenous artists, creatives, and small business are bringing beautiful items for sale to the market during the community gathering at City Hall from 6-8pm! If you’re able, bring some cash, support local community, and find your new favourite piece to take home! At the market you will find beadwork, resin pieces, wire weaved jewelry, hair tinsel, earrings, ribbon skirts & more!
