As someone that grew up around Asphalt Oval Track Racing I have loved the sport and it’s been a huge part of my life.

Getting to know James Houghton since 2020 ish and slowly getting introduced to the world of road racing, time attack and Gridlife it’s shown me that sport of racing isn’t dying it’s just the money is being spent in other areas.

This weekend I attended a CSCS event with literally hundreds of cars of many different genres drag racing, time attack, wheel
To wheel, show cars, tuners, etc etc

It was non stop action from on track action, eating contest, RC cars, Multiple DJ’s, event stages and a MC that kept the action going in multiple areas.

The fans were involved, engaged and part of the show.

This was minutes away from Jukasa at Toronto Motorsport Park people traveling from Ottawa, Toronto, Niagara Falls, Kitchener to be part of it.

We can continue to blame the economy, the culture, the drama, the too many classes, etc etc but in reality we have to find ways to do better look at entertainment options and find ways to engage the crowd be different.

Oshweken Speedway does so many things very well, I think Delaware Bone Stocks Pumpkin Smasher is a must see event from engagement, RIP TIDE did many things right to draw the car count to Sauble Speedway in the off season, ACC Peterborough Speedway is its own animal, Flamboro Speedway-Authorized Page drew an amazing crowd for the super modifieds, Full throttle speedway at varney consistently gets a crowd, now the trick is to make each night must see action to make everything feel special.

What have you seen at any event that you would add to your Saturday night, a fall fair (Rockton Demolition derby draws more fans than a Saturday night short track), a casino, a blue jays game, a concert at roger’s stadium, a cruise, a live theatre, a water park, Niagara falls what are these venues doing to draw you in and keep you coming back.

We can watch the sport die or we can start thinking outside the box.
