You may have seen the news: Hortilux Schréder has filed for bankruptcy. We want to make sure our customers and friends know — P.L. Light Systems is a separate company, independently owned since 2020, and this news does not affect us.

Yes, our branding shares a resemblance — we started out in 1981, and from 1992 onwards as Hortilux Schréder's North American division. But since Dec 1st, 2020 we’ve been separate from them and independently owned since 2020, and today we're proud to be partnered with Dutch Lighting Innovations as we keep leading the way in horticultural lighting.

Jardiniers du Chef recently shared these wonderful photos of their new installation. Switching from their existing 1000W HPS system to a more efficient 750W LED installation allowed for a seamless 1:1 swap into their existing control system and structure without interrupting 30 years of organic food production. This retrofit also freed up electrical capacity of their facility that allows for more efficient year round production.
