Haiti is hurting, and we’re holding its people in prayer. 🇭🇹

At ImpactHope, we believe prayer is an important part of how we stand alongside the communities and partners we serve. Today, we’re praying for those grieving, those displaced by violence, and those living with fear and uncertainty.

We pray for protection, peace, strength, and hope for Haiti, and for the local partners continuing to serve their communities in the midst of difficult circumstances.

Haiti is hurting. And we don't want to look away.

Many of you have probably seen the news coming out of Kenscoff, a community in the hills above Port-au-Prince.

On August 23, armed gangs attacked the community, killing at least 47 people and kidnapping more than 50 others. Homes were burned, families were forced to flee, and more than 2,600 people were displaced.

These aren't just numbers.

They are mothers and fathers. Children. Brothers and sisters. Neighbors. People with families, dreams, work, homes, and lives they were trying to live.

And Kenscoff is not an isolated story. Violence in Haiti continues to spread beyond the capital into communities that once felt safer. Kidnappings, killings, displacement, and fear are affecting people across the country.

So today, we pray.

We pray for those who were killed and for the families who are grieving.

We pray for those who were kidnapped and for their families who are waiting and hoping for their safe return.

We pray for those who have been forced from their homes.

We pray for the people of Kenscoff and communities throughout Haiti who are living with fear and uncertainty.

And we pray for those who are working for peace, safety, justice, and a better future for Haiti.

But we also want to remember something important: Haiti is more than the violence we see in the news.

Children are still learning.
Teachers are still showing up.
Parents are still loving their children.
People are still working, creating, serving, worshiping, helping their neighbors, and building something better.

At the Apparent Project, we see that every day.

There is still goodness in Haiti.
There is still courage.
There is still faith.
There is still hope.

We will not look away from the suffering. And we will not lose sight of the people and the hope that remain.

Hello, September. 🩵

As we turn the page on another month, we pause to be grateful for everything August brought — the progress made, the lives touched, the prayers answered, and the people who continued to believe in what is possible.

Now, we step into September with renewed hope.

There is still much to do, but there is also so much to look forward to. Every act of kindness, every prayer, every helping hand becomes part of a larger story, one of compassion, restoration, and hope.

May this new month bring fresh opportunities to serve, new reasons to believe, and meaningful moments that remind us why we keep moving forward.

Here’s to a September filled with hope.

Our hearts are broken by the devastating violence in Kenscoff, where our partner Fabienne and the OSPP team have faithfully served for years. Lives have been lost, homes and landmarks destroyed, and families are grieving.

India is home to more unreached people groups than almost anywhere else on earth — communities with limited access to the Gospel, basic education, clean water, or proper medical care.

Our partner LOAM Ministries (Love One Another Ministries) is working to change that, one village at a time. Through church planting, pastoral training, and a mission school currently serving 115 students, LOAM has already helped plant 30 churches and trained 400 pastors across remote regions of India.

Their approach is holistic: meeting physical needs while building lasting community and spiritual foundations that can carry on for generations.

Stelia Macheke is a young mother of twins living in Katsekaminga Village, Malawi. Like so many families in rural Malawi, she knows the daily reality of relying on unprotected wells, water sources that too often carry illness instead of relief.

Poverty remains a serious challenge in Malawi, driven by limited agricultural productivity and few opportunities beyond farming. Alongside our partner Pastor Moses, ImpactHope is working to bring safe, sustainable water access to families like Stelia's.

Clean water isn't a luxury. For mothers like Stelia, it's the foundation everything else is built on: health, safety, and the chance for her children to simply be children.
