Just six hours after we shared our Amazon wish list, every tablet, case, and screen protector had been purchased for our clients.

A huge thank you to Beverly Gallant for purchasing a tablet, and to Mr L**e + Tires Saint John for purchasing the rest of the items. We are so grateful for your generosity and for a community that shows up when we ask for help. We’re not sure what we would do without you.

Since then, others have asked if they can still contribute. “I feel, from my own experience, that Hidden Secret couldn’t have been a better option to attend for my rehabilitation.

Everyone treated me well. They helped me with my work, housing, and everything else I needed to prepare for my last day. Everyone gave it a family feel that you don’t get in other rehabilitation centres I considered going to.

Overall, everyone gave me the tools I needed to believe in myself more and grow in self-worth and self-love.

They were honest from the first day. I did not want to leave on the last day, but they worked with me to feel prepared to live in sober ways.

Being in the countryside allowed me to breathe in the fresh air while going through the challenges of finding myself and continuing to seek a better version of myself.

Thanks to my new support group and the new people I came across during my journey there, I don’t go through a single day where I feel alone anymore.

I always have someone I can talk to while I work on myself. In moments of deep questioning, I have someone who can walk with me through that confusion — whether it’s a counsellor or another client I met along the way.

There were transitions for me — being away from my family, leaving toxic friends and leaving relationships I had no business being in during my sober journey.

Being away from my phone was tough too. I actually had to work on finding myself.

Looking back, it’s crazy to realize how much I relied on technology to feel connected to other people while, at the same time, having very little connection with myself.

Thankfully, through all the activities, the work we were asked to put in, the adventures, and the constructive conversations I had with new friends and family, I managed to find a version of my higher self that I just didn’t see as possible before going to Hidden Secret.

I found myself moving toward a path of opportunity and positivity, and somehow, it started becoming my reality instead of my fantasy.

Don’t get me wrong: I had to put in the work.

I had to go through my own personal struggles to find myself. It took one baby step after another, and I had to be patient enough to see the progression.

But it was all worth it for this new journey I have been travelling.”

💚 Sunday night was another huge milestone for Hidden Secret Recovery, we held our very first Alumni Meeting!

This is such an important part of what we’re building. We want our current clients connected with our graduates so that the newcomers can look across the room and see living proof that the program works and life in recovery is possible.

At the same time, our graduates need that connection too. Coming back reminds them that they aren't missing out on anything by leaving their old lifestyle behind. The life they walked away from isn’t suddenly getting better, the life they are building in recovery is.

It also reminds every graduate that Hidden Secret doesn’t disappear when treatment ends. The door remains open. The relationships remain. The army remains.

Recovery isn’t about completing a program and being sent back into the world alone. It’s about building a community strong enough that when one person struggles, there are others beside them who understand the fight.
