What a wicked Thursday morning out topwater bass fishing🤟
These boys are up from Missouri chasing black bears with Owl Lake Outfitters and decided to take a morning off from the bear woods to chase some River Valley smallmouth bass.
Safe to say the river didn’t disappoint! We had some absolute tanks blowing up on topwater, couldn’t have asked for a better morning.

Took a little break from Guiding this week to spend some time with family that was home, so naturally we ended up on the river. Sometimes it’s nice to put the Guiding hat a side, slow down and enjoy the same river with family that I’m lucky enough to call of office.

It was a pleasure welcoming this wonderful couple from Scotland to the Saint John River Valley 🇨🇦🏴
We enjoyed a beautiful morning on the river, taking in the Hartland Covered Bridge and spotting a few bald eagles along the way.
It was a great opportunity to share some of what makes this part of New Brunswick so special!

A wicked Saint John River chain pickerel showing off those colours! 🎣
Another great reminder that you never know what’s going to hit next out here. 🤟

Headed south to Fredericton this morning with a couple buddies to try for some sturgeon, and we managed to put over a dozen fish in the boat in a few hours including a few solid ones in the 35–38” range.
Sturgeon was a new species for all of us in the boat, so it was great being able to tap into some local knowledge and fine-tune the game plan before hitting the water. A big thanks to minnowtackleshop and a few local guides who shared some insight on the fishery and helped point us in the right direction.
It’s always cool seeing how strong the fishing community is here in New Brunswick. No matter how much time you spend on the water, there’s always something to learn when you’re targeting a new species.

6 AM and on the road. 🤘
9°C this morning , pretty sure that’s our first single-digit morning of the year. Starting to get that late-summer feeling in the air.
Still lots of summer left, but you can feel fall slowly creeping in.
