The team was practicing MVC entries with different tools. Then once you get into the vehicle, you need to “peek & peel” looking for any other hazards such as airbags or wiring. Gorgeous evening to sharpen those skills to keep our community safe.

Fire Practice MVC Stabilization
Our team worked on MVC stabilizations. We never want to have a situation where we need to use these skills but if it happens, our team will be ready.

Sadly, despite the incredible generosity and support we receive from businesses in and around High Prairie, theft still happens, regardless of the organization or cause.

This past week, our High Prairie Fire Department training facility was broken into. The locks were cut, and a whole lift of OSB, along with lumber, was stolen.

We want to make it clear that the OSB that was taken was rejected material and did not meet the required standards for structural or building purposes. It was donated specifically for use at our training facility, where it can be used safely for training props and exercises. It should not be used for construction, structural applications, or building purposes.

These materials were generously donated by local businesses to help us improve our training facility and provide better training for our firefighters. It is extremely disappointing to see donations intended to benefit our department and our community taken in this way.

If anyone has any information regarding this theft, saw anything suspicious around the training facility, or knows where these materials may have gone, we would greatly appreciate you reaching out.

Please share this post and help us get the word out. Any information, no matter how small, could help.

Thank you to the businesses and community members who continue to support the High Prairie Fire Department. Your generosity does not go unnoticed.

We had a surprise visit from Dottie and her buddy at last night’s practice!

The firefighters were just as excited to see her as she was to see us. It was great to see Dottie back to her usual self and of course, causing a little mischief for her owner!

We’re pretty sure she remembers the crew that helped get her out of that well!

And a big thank you for the cupcakes! They were awesome and definitely didn’t last long!

Great to see you, Dottie! Stay out of trouble… or at least try!

Thank You, High Prairie & Area Residents!

A huge thank you to all the Town and County residents who were willing to lend their properties to the High Prairie Fire Department for our training exercises.

Although we were unable to use all of the properties that were offered, we are truly grateful to everyone who took the time to reach out and offer their property. Your willingness to support our training is greatly appreciated and does not go unnoticed.

Your support allows our members to train, improve their skills, and be better prepared to respond when our community needs us most.

And now for the important part… the winner of the Fire Department swag is Stacy!

Congratulations, Stacy! We will be contacting you shortly to arrange getting your prize to you.

Thank you again to everyone who offered their property and supported the High Prairie Fire Department! Your continued support means a lot to our members and our community.
