Congratulations are in order for our President, Jason Ball! 🥳🎉

Recently, our team had the privilege of attending the OGCA’s Annual General Meeting & Conference in sunny Bermuda, where Jason was honored with the prestigious John Tindale Award for Integrity in the Construction Industry. This distinguished award recognizes individuals who exemplify the highest standards of ethics and integrity in their dealings within the industry, while also demonstrating active involvement in local construction associations and community service.

It is no surprise that Jason received this honor. As a well-respected figure in the construction sector, he has always led with honor, integrity, and a genuine passion for giving back to the community. His commitment to upholding industry standards and fostering positive relationships has made a lasting impact, both within our firm and beyond.

We are thrilled to celebrate this remarkable milestone with Jason and are incredibly proud of his well-deserved recognition. Our heartfelt thanks go to the OGCA | Ontario General Contractors Association for this honor, and we remain dedicated to leading with integrity and purpose for many years to come. Earlier this week, our team had the opportunity to join Minister of Labour, David Piccini at Emterra Environmental to announce $3.9M in funding to help women, including survivors of domestic violence, get into in-demand skilled trades careers. At Ball Construction, we are proud to support this initiative as equal opportunity employers, always supporting individuals to get involved in the work that we do, regardless of gender. 
 
Our team was happy to witness Minister Piccini make this significant announcement and to support the development of the Emterra Environmental building—an project led by Ball Construction. Our own President, Jason Ball, had the opportunity to take a picture with Alex Lolua, Executive Director of the Golden Horseshoe General Contractors Association, and David Piccini, Minister of Labour. Many of our staff were in attendance, watching excitedly as this historic funding announcement was made, marking a pivotal step toward shaping a more inclusive future for women in the skilled trades.  
 
We thank the Minister for inviting us to this event, and are excited to see how this announcement continues to change the future of women in the skilled trades.

Kicking off summer right by hosting our annual Ball Construction Golf Tournament! ⛳️🏌🏻‍♂️

Our team had great day of fun in the sun and playing golf! ☀️ At the end of the tournament, one of our very own Estimators, Brendon Aitken, ended up winning the tournament and taking home the gold! 🏆🥇

We thank everyone who came out this year and we can’t wait to see you all next year!

Project Update! 🦺🏗️

Progress on our new Student Residence project for Tilbury Capital is moving along quickly as our team shared these recent drone pictures. As we move closer to the finish line, we can begin to appreciate how the final look is coming together!

A few weeks ago, our team, along with the City of Cambridge, celebrated the Grand Opening of the newly renovated Preston Memorial Arena! 🎉
 
The festivities included a fun filled night of free public skating, walking tours, inflatables, face painting, even a Cambridge Rivulettes games, and of course a ceremonial ribbon cutting to commemorate the Grand Opening of the Arena.
 
Our team is happy to celebrate with the City of Cambridge in the opening of this new facility, and to have lead the construction process of a facility that will support the Cambridge community for years to come!

JOB UPDATE: New Student Residence for Tilbury Capital! 🏗️🚧
 
Our team has been hard at work this month as the steel structure has gone up for our new student residence project with Tilbury Capital!
 
Created to be a modern facility for all incoming students, this residence building will feature a grab-and-go food service, study spaces, multi-purpose rooms for formal and in-formal learning, and even a fitness area. The intent behind this residence building is to foster a collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit that inspires ideas and knowledge transfer. 
 
We are excited to see how this project will continue to progress!

PROJECT WIN! 🎉
 
Our team at Ball Construction are pleased to announce that we have recently partnered with the City of Kawartha Lakes on the construction of a new Paramedic Headquarters for the City! This project is hugely important to the Kawartha Lakes community as it will serve as a central hub for all paramedic operations, including training areas, vehicle maintenance, emergency response coordination and even administrative offices! 
 
Acting as the construction manager for this project, we are excited and honoured to help the City to create this fully modern, fully functional, facility. Stay tuned as we will provide updates as this project moves along!

JOB UPDATE: Barrie YMCA! 🏗️🚧
 
This month, our team along with our partners at reached a new milestone on our Barrie YMCA project as we installed our new steel structure!
 
This milestone is not only one that means progress on the new facility, but also signifies a step closer to creating a space that will foster connection, community and a place of belonging for each and every person, family, and child who steps through those doors. We are excited to see how the progress continues on this project. Stay tuned!

Happy Retirement Cam! 🏆

Today our team celebrated an amazing milestone, the retirement of our Vice President, Partner-In-Charge, Cameron Ball! A long standing member of our team, he has helped lead our company with integrity and honesty. After 40+ years of dedicated service, we are happy to see Cam take his well-deserved retirement. We wish him a restful retirement and thank you for all your years of service!

A huge congratulations to Rod Aitken, one of our vice presidents here at Ball Construction, on being appointed as the 2025 GVCA Board Chair!
