ANNIE - Urgent Foster Needed

ANNIE HAS BEEN WAITING 2 YEARS AND NEEDS SOME MEDICAL ATTENTION.  We can’t save her without a confirmed and committed foster.

Meet Annie, a beautiful 2-year-old Husky mix weighing approximately 50 lbs who is an in loving and affectionate girl! Annie adores people and is happiest when she’s getting attention, going for walks, relaxing outside, or simply hanging out with her favourite humans. She is energetic, confident, and loves being active and engaged.

Annie does well in a crate, although she may whine or howl occasionally, and she travels very well in the car. She does have prey drive and cannot live with cats or small animals. Her previous shelter reported that she did well with dogs her size, so a slow and proper introduction to another confident, similar-sized dog may be possible.

Annie arrived with a previously broken front leg that healed improperly, known as a malunion. Her veterinarian has confirmed that the leg is healed and that surgery would not correct it. She is still able to use the leg and has an excellent energy level; she currently takes Carprofen once daily for comfort. Annie is a big-hearted girl who has so much love to give and is ready for someone who will give her the affection, companionship, and forever home she deserves. 💕🐾

NIÑO — FOSTER NEEDED/FOSTER TO ADOPT 📣

Meet Niño, an adorable 1-year-4-month-old Shepherd/Lab mix weighing approximately 60lbs, He is a happy, intelligent, affectionate young dog who loves being active and involved with his people.

Niño would be an amazing match for an active family who enjoys walks, running, playing and spending time outdoors. He loves balls, walks, running and playtime, and he would do especially well with children over 10 who can keep up with his youthful energy.

Niño is very friendly with dogs of all sizes and is not reactive, even when off leash. He is comfortable with people around and can also happily spend some time alone. He has not been cat tested.

He is incredibly smart and already knows commands such as sit and down. With continued training, this boy has the potential to be an amazing companion! He is currently working on crate training and is doing well with his house training when given regular walks. He is also great in the car.

Niño is not a big barker, although he can jump up when he first sees you because he gets so excited and happy!

If you’re looking for a fun, loving, intelligent and active young dog, Niño could be your perfect match.

Chloe:

CHLOE — FOSTER NEEDED

Looking for a sweet, easygoing, happy girl to add to your family? Meet Chloe — a 4-year-old, 60-pound Lab mix who truly seems to have it all. She’s affectionate, confident, playful, and well-mannered, and she’s wonderful with both people and dogs.

Chloe loves her people and is friendly with humans big and small. She’s been around children and done beautifully with them, and she gets along easily with other dogs both on and off leash.

In the house she’s a dream. Chloe is completely house trained and can be left uncrated without getting into anything. She’s perfectly comfortable in a crate too — she just doesn’t need one. She walks nicely on leash, loves a car ride, and is always up for an adventure.

Her favourite ways to have fun are toys and a good game of outdoor tetherball. But she knows how to switch off, too. Chloe is just as happy curled up beside you for a quiet evening as she is playing in the yard.

Chloe is pretty adaptable. She isn’t looking for a specific type of family, but anyone who will love her and include her as part of the family. . A busy family home or a quiet one with a single person would both suit her. She’s happy as an only dog and equally happy with canine company — she enjoys other dogs but doesn’t need one to thrive. Chloe hasn’t been cat tested yet, so any feline introductions would need to be done slowly and carefully.

Chloe is sweet without being demanding, playful without being nonstop, confident without being pushy, and affectionate without being overwhelming. All she needs now is a family who recognizes what a special girl she is.

MOOSE - FOSTER NEEDED
Age: 4 years | Neutered | 68 lbs |

📣 MOOSE IS NOT CURRENTLY SAFE, AND FACING EUTHANSIA.

We are looking for a foster that has bully experience and willing to give him the time he needs to decompress. He has been in the kennels far too long - and showing signs of stress.
Moose is a beefcake of a short king, and he would very much like you to throw the ball.

Moose came in as a stray, skinny and with skin that told the story of a dog who’d been left outside too long. He’s filled out since then and looks like a different dog - solid, healthy, and well fed.

He’s easygoing and well mannered in his kennel, though he makes his excitement known when it’s time to go outside. He walks well on leash, just strong enough to pull a bit. He’s easy to handle, easy to work with, and has been friendly with every single person he’s met.

In off-leash play group Moose is lovely with other dogs — he’ll trot over to say hello and have a sniff, then happily go do his own thing. But what he really wants is fetch. He absolutely loves it, and he brings the ball back to you, which as anyone who’s worked in a shelter knows is not a given.

What he needs you to know:
• Moose has been here over two months with limited yard time, and he’d started barking himself hoarse. He’s on a low dose of anxiety medication to take the edge off kennel life — and notably, he’s never barked once in his kennel or the yard while working with staff. That’s a dog struggling with confinement, not a dog with a behaviour problem. He’s also started Benadryl and fish oil for skin allergies, and had his right ear cleaned and packed.

Two months is a long time for a dog this good. Moose is ready to go be somebody’s dog 🏡

🚨 ZANE — Updated bio; URGENT FOSTER OR RESCUE NEEDED 🚨

We need help.
Zane has been in boarding for weeks while we search for the right placement. If a rescue can help, we can transfer him after he is neutered. This boy deserves better than a kennel. 💛

Zane is a 1.5-year-old XL Bully, approximately 110 lbs. He grew up in a family home with children and is a social, loving dog who genuinely enjoys people. He’s energetic, playful, full of personality, and will play fetch until you give up first! He LOVES kids and can be fostered with older children who are comfortable with his size.

Zane is not yet neutered and still requires vetting.

🐾 WHAT ZANE NEEDS:

✔️ No other dogs for now. Zane came from Northern Quebec and went directly into boarding, where he’s been for over a month. He needs a quiet home where he can decompress properly.

Zane has had great play sessions with larger dogs, and we believe he may be able to live with them eventually. However, a brief foster placement where protocols weren’t followed created problems that set him back. This time, we’re making sure he is set up to succeed: decompress, get neutered, and only then consider introductions.

✔️ Bully breed experience is mandatory. At 110 lbs, Zane needs an experienced handler who understands the breed and will follow our protocols for decompression, leashing, and introductions—even when he seems ready for more.

✔️ A secure yard, space, structure & routine. Zane needs someone with time for him who can provide clear rules, consistency, exercise, and structure.

ASTRO - FOSTER FOUND ✅️

Astro is a young lab mix with an old soul. At 10 months he’s got surprisingly settled energy — low to medium, happy with a good walk and then happy to flop down beside you for the rest of the evening.

And beside you is exactly where he wants to be. Astro is a velcro boy in the best way. He’s eager to please, easy to work with, and genuinely just wants to be near his person.

What we know about him:

Dog friendly and people friendly
Walks nicely on leash
Crate trained
Not especially interested in cats, though we’d supervise — he’d likely chase one that ran

He’d be a lovely fit for a family, a first-time dog owner with a bit of support, or anyone looking for a companion rather than a project. He’s a young and well balanced dog, who will not be a project for anyone. He is very deserving of being saved.

ELVIRA - FOSTER NEEDED

At a year old and 38 lbs she’s a nicely manageable size — big enough to keep up on an adventure, small enough to curl up on the couch afterward. And she is just plain sweet. There’s no other word for her.

Elvira likes everybody. Kids? She loves them. Other dogs? She Loves them. Cats? She Loves them too. She’s one of those rare dogs who hasn’t yet met a creature she didn’t want to be friends with.

Like every dog coming into a new home, Elvira will need decompression time. A quiet couple of weeks to settle in, with introductions kept slow even though she’s friendly. Give her that, and she’ll show you who she really is.

WILLOUGHBY - AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION

Looking for a loyal couch companion who’ll happily join you for an adventure and then curl up beside you afterward? Meet Willoughby. He’s a handsome 7–8 year old lab mix, rescued from Texas, and he’s got two sides to him: the adventurous hiking buddy and the devoted couch potato. Both are worth having.

The basics
•7–8 years old, neutered, up to date on vaccines
•Takes a daily dose of fluoxetine for anxiety
•Apartment friendly — his house manners are excellent and he’s genuinely relaxed indoors
•Sleeps independently in his crate and will often take himself there
•Muzzle trained and does very well with it

What he’s like
Willoughby is a total velcro dog when he’s in the mood for affection, and perfectly content with his own space when he isn’t. He loves to cuddle but won’t pester you for it. Once trust is established he’s comfortable with all the handling that matters — ears, nails, baths, even someone touching his food.

That last part comes with an honest note: he isn’t food aggressive or possessive with people, but he will growl over food around other dogs.

His ideal home
Adults only. Willoughby gets skittish when children get into his personal space and can become snappy about it. A child-free home isn’t a preference here, it’s a requirement.

Other dogs: He’s very good with small dogs. He can be more standoffish with large dogs, so slow introductions and careful matching matter.

Cats: He currently lives with two cats, separated, and he’s curious about them. We’d recommend a home without cats.

Willoughby isn’t looking for a perfect home. He’s looking for a patient person who’ll let him build trust at his own pace.
Give him that, and he’s a wonderfully loving, relaxed companion with a great deal of affection to give. He just needs to know he’s safe first.

ZANE - ❣️ URGENT FOSTER NEEDED

Zane is a 1.5-year-old XL Bully, born January 11, 2025, weighing approximately 65lbs. This big, beautiful boy grew up in a family home with children and is a very social, loving dog who enjoys spending time with people

Although we think he will eventually be good with other similar-sized dogs, for now we are looking for a home with no other pets.

Zane is energetic, playful, and full of personality. He loves playing fetch and will thrive with a family that can give him plenty of exercise, attention, and continued socialization.

Because of his size, strength, and breed, an experienced handler is required, and previous Bully breed experience is mandatory.
Zane is looking for a home with a secure yard and enough space for an XL dog. He is not looking for a home where he will be left alone all day—Zane wants to be part of the family and needs people who have the time and commitment to give him the life he deserves.

Zane currently requires vetting and is not yet neutered.

He must be fostered within the Kitchener-Waterloo area to ensure he can easily access the veterinary care and vetting he requires.

If you have the experience, space, and time for this big, lovable boy, Zane may just be the perfect addition to your family.
