Manufacturing doesn't slow down, and neither does Pano Caps' commitment to sustainability.

Pano Caps' manufacturing facility runs high-demand injection molding around the clock, which means one thing: they need a solar system strong enough to keep up. So we built one that does exactly that.

🔋 888 kW DC / 750 kW AC
⚡ 975,000 kWh generated every single year
🔧 1,445 panels covering the roofline
🌎 14,296 tons of CO2 offset over the system's 25-year lifespan

That's not just a solar installation. That's a manufacturer rethinking how it powers its future by turning its rooftop into an asset that cuts its utility costs.

Solar Carports Help Businesses Qualify for Green Building Certifications — VCT Group 09/09/2026

Most sustainability strategies stop at the building's walls.

The real question REITs and developers should be asking isn't "Is our building green enough?" It's "What about everything around it?"

Our latest VCT Group Insights article looks at an overlooked certification asset hiding in plain sight: the parking lot. From LEED credits for on-site renewable energy and heat island reduction to EV-ready infrastructure, solar carports turn underused pavement into a repeatable, portfolio-scale certification strategy.

Rising hydro bills. Unpredictable rate hikes. Energy costs eating into manufacturing margins.

Sound familiar?

Ontario manufacturers are turning to on-site solar to take back control, locking in stable energy costs for decades, not years, while tapping into tax credits that offset the upfront investment.

We unpack why solar is becoming essential (not optional) for industrial facilities in our recent Insights here https://vctgroup.com/insights/why-solar-for-manufacturing-facilities.

Next week, VCT Group will be attending AMO 2026 in Ottawa!

Our Business Development Manager, Zac Jolliffe, will be at booth 621, talking about how commercial solar can help meet LEED certification requirements, reduce carbon, and how solar projects turn underused spaces like parking lots and rooftops into more productive assets.

If you're heading to the show, stop by booth 621 to say hello and learn more.

This is Heliostation Pegasus™.

With a vertex design engineered for maximum vertical clearance on both sides of the canopy, Pegasus is the ideal solar canopy for transportation-heavy sites like bus depots and last-mile delivery terminals.

With clearance up to 6.5m and a peak height of 7.1m, Pegasus accommodates any vehicle type: sedans, trucks, coach buses, and service trucks, all under one structure, with full solar coverage and no compromise on headroom.

Specifically engineered to handle snow, rain, and hail, our patent-pending water management system channels runoff through the racking itself. No caulking, no gaskets, no leaks, no maintenance.

The result: lower energy costs and an underused lot turned into a working asset with no compromises to day-to-day activities.

Uncovered inventory is a bet you don't have to make.

Car dealerships have acres of unshaded pavement and rows of vehicles exposed to the sun every day. What if that space could work harder?

Solar carports offer car dealerships more than just shade; think energy savings, protected inventory, and a stronger sustainability story for customers who care about it.

In our latest VCT Group Insights article, we break down the hidden benefits that make solar carports a smart investment for dealership lots.

Last week, we hosted Mike Schreiner, Leader of the Green Party of Ontario and MPP for The City of Guelph, at our office.

What started as a tour turned into a real conversation about the state of solar in Ontario: how far the industry has come, the challenges still slowing it down, and what it would take to build out solar manufacturing right here in Ontario rather than importing it.

We also walked him through our materials and metal fabrication process for our carports, and discussed how carports are an innovative solar solution that puts underused space, like parking lots, to work generating clean power.

It's not every day you get to talk with someone shaping energy policy at Queen's Park. We left the conversation optimistic about where this industry is headed, and grateful Mike took the time to sit down with us.
