๐Ÿง June is Brain Injury Awareness Month

At Traverse Independence, we take this time to raise awareness, show support, and celebrate the strength of individuals living with brain injuries. Every journey is unique, and every step forward, no matter how small, is worth recognizing!

Brain injuries can affect how people think, feel, and interact with the world, but with the right support, understanding, and community, individuals can continue to live meaningful, independent lives.

This month, we encourage everyone to:

โœ… Learn more about brain injury and its impact
โœ… Show compassion and patience
โœ… Support inclusion and accessibility
โœ… Celebrate resilience and progress
โœ… Wear green on June 15th

Together, we can build a more understanding and supportive community for all. ๐Ÿ’ช

Weโ€™re excited to share that we recently hosted our first training session for ABI 101/102 and Sanguen Health Centre Harm Reduction.

These sessions provide valuable knowledge and practical tools to better support individuals in our programs, with a focus on understanding acquired brain injury (ABI) and applying harm reduction principles in our work.

A big thank you to our trainers and everyone who participated, your commitment to learning and growth helps strengthen the quality of care and support we provide everyday.

We look forward to continuing to build on this foundation and bringing even more training opportunities to our community.

This is a time to celebrate accessibility, inclusion, and the invaluable contributions of Canadians with disabilities.

It is a great opportunity to reflect on how we can all help build a more inclusive and barrier-free Canada. Whether itโ€™s in our workplaces, communities, or everyday interactions, every step toward accessibility makes a difference.

Letโ€™s take time to learn, listen, and take action because inclusion benefits everyone. ๐Ÿ’™
