The Strippers - Kitchener

Southern Ontario's furniture refinishing, painting, repairing & restoration experts! That's exactly what happened to us, at The Strippers!
Sometimes a pleasurable hobby or interest can become a full time occupation, especially when you excel at what you do. At first, your talent might only attract the interest of family or close friends, but word of mouth is one of the best advertising tools, and before you know it you’re at it full time! And that is how we, Margery Smith and Rita Wagner, moved from hobby to business! Rita Wagner and I worked for an insurance company, but in our spare time we stripped...and we were very good at it – stripping furniture that is!! Our mutual love of restoring wooden furniture and metal items has lead us down a very successful path and since establishing our business in 1982 we have proud to say that we have experienced exceptional growth for the last 32 years! We tend to put heart and soul into those things we love to do and that is exactly what we do every day with the furniture and other items we restore for our clients. Because each project is unique, our attention to detail is paramount and we are able to utilize our experience in revitalizing even the most exotic wood design to perfection. It is this attention to detail, that enables us to recapture the beauty of items whether they be worn out, broken, scratched or cracked. Our clients are delighted that we can extend the life of their cherished family pieces and restore treasured heirlooms to their former glory. When we were first "open for business" in 1982 at our Head Office in Kitchener, Ontario and were confident in our abilities and service, we opted to open a second location in Guelph in 1988. Then, due to demand, in 1989 we opened in another outlet in Cambridge. With extensive staff training, both of these locations continue today as licensed dealers and deliver the same professional service and quality craftsmanship we "The Strippers" pride ourselves on.

Before the big, cushy leather office chairs, there was this. This early office chair featured a cane seat and back, and it swivelled, but it was not on castors. We're looking forward to giving this treasure a second life. Stay tuned, we'll share pics!

This compact desk looked a little worn down when it arrived, but we stripped it, and then put on a fresh, new natural finish. It's onto its second life now!

We see the coolest pieces! This gem is a table and a silver chest. Flip through to see how it looked when it arrived, once it was stripped, and finally, when it was all done and heading home with a fresh, new updated look!
