Today, we proudly celebrate the dedication, compassion, and expertise of Waterloo Regional Health Network - WRHN rehabilitation professionals. đź’™
Rehabilitation is about helping people regain independence, recover from illness or injury, manage ongoing health conditions, and get back to the activities that matter most to them.
At WRHN, rehabilitation services help patients build strength, regain independence, and navigate their recovery journey with confidence. From regional rehabilitation programs at WRHN @ Chicopee to cardiac rehabilitation services at WRHN @ The Boardwalk, our teams support patients every step of the way.
Today, we celebrate and thank our rehabilitation professionals for the care, expertise, and encouragement they bring to patients and families every day. Your impact helps people move forward, one milestone at a time. Thank you.

That’s Betty’s secret to living a long and wonderful life, and at 102 years young, she certainly knows what she’s talking about!
Â
A beloved patient of Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN) (WRHN), Betty recently celebrated her incredible 102nd birthday surrounded by family, friends and members of the Transitional Care Unit at WRHN @ Chicopee. The celebration was complete with cake, gold, glitter, and music that had many guests up on their feet dancing!
Â
There was plenty of laughter, love, and joy as everyone gathered to celebrate Betty and the remarkable life she has lived. Her strength, spirit, and zest for life continue to inspire everyone around her.
Â
Happy 102nd birthday, Betty! Here’s to more laughter, more dancing, more memories, and, of course, plenty of Pedialyte! 🎂✨

Thank you to University of Waterloo researchers and dedicated Waterloo Regional Health Network - WRHN team members for their ongoing commitment to advancing stroke care and improving outcomes for patients.
Through collaboration and research, we're helping ensure patients receive the timely care they need when every minute matters.
Waterloo Regional Health Network Foundation - WRHNF
When someone experiences a stroke, every minute can mean the difference between recovery and permanent disability.
A new University of Waterloo-led study has identified workflow barriers that contribute to treatment delays, helping health-care providers improve outcomes for patients across the stroke care pathway.
The research brought together experts from Waterloo's management science and engineering department with members of the research and stroke teams at Waterloo Regional Health Network - WRHN to examine why door-to-needle time, the interval between a patient's arrival at hospital and administration of clot-busting medication, can be longer than recommended targets.
"Stroke care is often described with the phrase 'time is brain' because brain tissue is lost with every minute treatment is delayed," says Rahenda Khodeir, a doctoral researcher in the management science and engineering department and member of the Waterloo Analytics and Optimization Lab (WANOPT).
"Our goal was to understand not only where delays occur, but why they occur and how health-care organizations can address them."

As members of our Jewish community prepare to observe Rosh Hashanah, which begins at sundown today, September 11, and continues until nightfall on Sunday, September 13, we extend warm wishes to our Jewish patients, families, community members, volunteers, physicians and team members.
Rosh Hashanah marks the Jewish New Year and the beginning of the High Holy Days, a time for family and community, prayer, reflection and traditions that look ahead with hope and renewal.
The High Holy Days culminate with Yom Kippur, which begins at sundown on Sunday, September 20, and concludes at nightfall on Monday, September 21. It is the Day of Atonement and the holiest day of the Jewish year, a sacred and solemn time centred on prayer, reflection, fasting and seeking forgiveness.
At Waterloo Regional Health Network - WRHN, we recognize and respect the faiths, traditions and practices that are meaningful to the people who work here and those who entrust us with their care.
To everyone observing Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, we wish you and your loved ones meaningful and peaceful High Holy Days and a sweet new year.
Shanah Tovah. 🍎🍯
What an unforgettable year as WRHN Foundation brought our legacy foundations together for one purpose.
In April 2025, WRHN united to build a stronger health care system for our rapidly growing community. And it's critical, as 1.4 million people - 1 in 10 Ontarians - depend on WRHN's care.
This past year, we witnessed firsts in clinical care, funded cutting-edge technology, and laid the groundwork for Waterloo Region’s new hospital.
Over 17,000 donors helped us raise more than $26 million to improve access to care, close to home.
Our inaugural 2025/26 Impact Report shows what’s possible when a community builds together. Explore the full 2025/26 Impact Report and get a glimpse of what's ahead: wrhnf.ca/impact/
