On smoky days caused by wildfire smoke or poor air quality, it’s a good idea to reduce your exposure as much as possible. Here are some practical recommendations:

- Check the Air Quality Index (AQI) before spending time outdoors. As the AQI rises, health risks increase, especially for children, older adults, pregnant people, and those with asthma, heart disease, or other lung conditions.
- Stay indoors with windows and doors closed if outdoor air quality is poor.
- Run air conditioning on the recirculation setting if possible, and use a HEPA air purifier if you have one.
- Limit outdoor exercise. Activities like running, cycling, or heavy yard work cause you to breathe more smoke into your lungs.
- If you need to go outside, keep your time outdoors as short as practical. A well-fitting N95 or KN95 respirator can help filter fine smoke particles; cloth or surgical masks are much less effective for wildfire smoke.
- Avoid adding indoor pollution. Don’t smoke, burn candles or incense, or vacuum without a HEPA filter, as these can worsen indoor air quality.
- Stay hydrated, as smoke can irritate your eyes, nose, and throat.
- Watch for symptoms such as persistent coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, chest pain, severe headache, or dizziness. If these are severe or worsening, seek medical care promptly.
- If you have asthma or another lung condition, keep your rescue inhaler or prescribed medications readily available and follow your action plan.

10 years ago, I took a leap and started this home inspection journey with a simple goal: to help people make confident decisions about one of the biggest investments of their lives.

A decade later, I’m beyond grateful for the trust, support, and referrals from amazing clients, realtors, friends, and family who made this milestone possible. Every home, every inspection, and every conversation has been part of the story.

Thank you for being part of the journey — here’s to many more years of helping people feel at home 🏡

Over the past two days, I participated in an intensive Commercial Inspection Training, where we conducted a full inspection of a 12-story commercial building.
This hands-on experience provided valuable insight into assessing key systems — from structural and exterior elements to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety components. Each floor presented unique challenges and learning opportunities, reinforcing the importance of thorough preparation, attention to detail, and adherence to industry standards.
Always preparing to give the best service to my customers.
