Have you always loved horses and wanted to understand them on a deeper level?

For 17 years, our From The Ground Up program has been offering a different approach to horsemanship — one that goes far beyond traditional riding lessons.

Our mentorship program is a progressive, multi-level horsemanship program designed to build knowledge, confidence and understanding at every stage of your horse journey. Whether you have never handled a horse before, you are preparing for horse ownership or already have experience, the program continues to build into more advanced levels of horsemanship, including deeper horse communication.

We believe that you can’t safely ride what you don’t understand. That’s why we go beyond simply teaching riding skills and focus on helping you truly understand the horse — what makes a horse a horse, how they think, communicate, learn, and respond to the world around them.

In a calm, welcoming environment, you’ll learn step by step about:

• Horse behaviour and communication
• Safe handling and horsemanship
• Physical and emotional needs
• Everyday horse care
• Health care and recognizing when something isn’t right
• Physiology and how the horse’s body works
• Building confidence and awareness around horses
• Preparing for responsible horse ownership
• Progressive horse communication as your skills advance

For beginners, it provides a place to learn without the pressure that can come with traditional stable lessons. For experienced horse people, it offers the opportunity to go deeper — developing a greater understanding of communication, behaviour and the horse itself.

Each level builds upon the last, helping give you the knowledge, practical skills and confidence to set yourself up for success, whether your goal is horse ownership, better communication, or simply becoming a more capable and informed horse lover.

This 3 year old gelding is looking for his forever person . Ranch raised from our herd sire, Solanos peppy Fritz and a grand daughter of Taris catalyst / High brow cat. Cruz has a great character , very respectful and a perfect mix of athleticism and willingness. His mother is winning in the team penning circuit. He’s approx 14.1 with a narrower build as well as a July foal so we lightly started him last year and added more training this spring. He’s a natural with his leads and could do very well in reining with a fantastic sit down stop . Meet you at the gate type and very inquisitive. Contact for more details

A warning to all aqha breeders . Sorry but this is a longer post.
I have been breeding for over 20 years and as a rule we try to go above and beyond for our customers . This includes helping with aqha paperwork . Last fall I sent in a few transfers in the same envelope, 1 was mine and 1 was a customer who purchased a horse. I have been sending emails and getting generic answers , called and was told work would be completed and it was not . Called back to see why and was told they were billing my transfer of the horse I bought to the other person . And refused to correct there mistake . There logic was that it was on that person cuz it was in the same envelope! They wanted them to renew their membership before they would do my transfer and the foal that was needing to be registered and dna for that mare was all on hold for 8 months because we shared postage ! Eventually my stubbornness and demanding a supervisor they relented and said this was a 1 time only thing and scolded me for their screw up! The 2 horses were unrelated ,separate totally in every way and obviously the new horse owner was quite concerned why aqha was sending them huge bills . So a warning to everyone, don’t share an envelope with anyone , apparently it’s to much confusion for there office staff!
