Camps include a variety of cross training like balance/stability, strength, mobility as well as baseball technique. We strive to train the athlete, not just the baseball player. The YQL Sluggers 13u AAA team is headed out to Winnipeg to play in Baseball Canada’s Western Championship tournament. The team is lead by Head Coach Mitch Carpenter with his assistant Doug Bennett. The team had an incredible season winning 43 out of 52 games.
I would like to thank all the parents and supporters of this team. We are fortunate to have the community we do.
I want to give special thanks to Head Coach Mitch Carpenter, assistant coach Doug Bennett and the behind the scene guy who does so much, the off field manager Scott Kornelson.

YQL Sluggers is hosting some youth (ages 6-8) camps to get your young sluggers ready for fall baseball. There are two sessions;

Session 1 - 10am-11:30
Session 2 - 12 noon - 1:30

Camps will run Aug 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27 (Tues, Wed, Thurs) for two weeks.

Camps will include:
Throwing Mechanics
Catching Fundamentals
Fielding Fundamentals
Hitting Fundamentals

There will also be a fitness/mobility/balance training component to each camp.

Cost is $200.

YQL Sluggers is hosting 2 camps for youths (ages 6-8) to get them ready for the fall baseball season. Camps will include instruction on throwing mechanics, catching, fielding and hitting fundamentals. There will also be a fitness/movement balance component to the camp.
Camp will include 9 hours of instruction over 6 sessions that run 1.5 hours. Only 6 participants per camp. Choose a session:

YQL Sluggers is hosting tryouts for the upcoming fall baseball season. Tryout dates are Aug. 29 & 30.
Season runs 6 weeks and includes:
2 outdoor practices per week
1 indoor practice per week
16 game schedule (some travel)

The saddest day of the year is the day the baseball season ends. The 2026 YQL Sluggers Amateur Baseball season has come to an end for the 18u AA team but continues on for the 13u AAA Slugs. As with every season there comes heartache and pain as our athletes go to war together. Through these baseball battles our lives change. We learn that the group is greater than the sum of the parts. We learn that together we can take on more than we can alone. We learn trust and faith in one another. We learn respect and truth.
I love the game of baseball because of the life lessons it brings. It’s not about the throws, the catches or the hits, it’s about the trust built together, the love we share for the game and one another. I will miss you baseball.
