Today we would like to shine the spotlight on Wellspring Alberta
Wellspring Alberta offers non-medical cancer support programs across the province. Wellspring offers 70 evidence-informed programs, completely free of charge and with no referral needed, so that anyone impacted by cancer can access the support they deserve. Their programs are delivered online, by phone and in-person in Lethbridge. This outreach model is built on a community participatory approach, informed by the needs of the local community with local members, and key community partners such as you. Compass for the Caregiver programs will be offered every Wednesday from October 7-November 4 from 6-8pm at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden Bunka Centre at 835 Mayor Magrath Drive South.

How the Community Can Help:
Wellspring Alberta is looking for Community Connector Volunteers to assist with strengthening cancer support. In this role, volunteers will assist patients, caregivers, and family members in registering as a Wellspring member, conduct new member welcome calls and support people in accessing resources, distribute brochures and posters, attend information booths, deliver presentations, and talk to healthcare providers and community members.

Not everyone wants to be front and centre, and not everyone enjoys the same kind of involvement. Some people prefer to work quietly in the background, while others feel most comfortable connecting with people directly.

The right way to get involved is the one that feels natural to you.
