Founded in 1976, the Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association (LTRA) is a registered charity dedicated to discovery, inclusion, and learning through horses. Through therapeutic riding, adaptive riding, equine-assisted wellness, inclusive camps, outreach, and community partnerships, LTRA helps people of all ages and abilities experience connection, confidence, independence, and healing through the power of horses. LTRA is committed to ensuring that everyone who can benefit from horses has access to these life-changing opportunities. Adaptive equipment, accessible facilities, sliding-scale subsidies, community fundraising, and the dedication of volunteers all help make its programs possible. Proudly rooted in Southern Alberta for 50 years, LTRA continues to build a stronger and more inclusive community—one ride at a time.

Saddle up for a cause on Saturday, September 12, 2026, as riders from across Southern Alberta come together for a scenic group trail ride through Pavan Park in Lethbridge.

Bring your horse, collect pledges, and help support the Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association’s Therapeutic Riding and Equine Wellness Programs. This longstanding community event raises critical funds to help keep the healing power of horses accessible to individuals of all abilities.

Pepper and Silver had the best time visiting with some new friends during today’s Horses in the Window visit🐴💚

The beautiful weather made it the perfect day to soak up some sunshine, and plenty of attention from every resident who stopped by to say hello!

From gentle pats to big smiles, these visits remind us just how special the connection between horses and people can be.

These aren't just LTRA's lesson horses — they're partners. We entrust them with our most fragile riders, and they show up with patience, gentleness, and heart every single day.

While many lesson programs keep horses in small pens, we believe in horses being horses. Our program herd lives together 24/7 — moving, grazing, and thriving as a group, the way horses are meant to live.

One of the ways we say thank you? Almost 20 acres of pasture wrapping around our property, dedicated entirely to them. When they're not changing lives in the arena, they're out here doing exactly what you see in this photo.

Add in regular veterinary care, consistent farrier work, and no shortage of love from everyone they meet, and you get a herd that's healthy, happy, and ready to give their best to every rider.

For one night only, the LTRA Arena will be transformed into a country concert venue featuring Chase Morgan and Brettyn Rose—performing separately and together throughout the evening. Enjoy an upscale BBQ, spirited live auction and an unforgettable night of music, dancing and community.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12: RIDE4DREAMS TRAIL RIDE

Saddle up and ride for a reason! Riders will collect pledges before coming together for a scenic group ride through Pavan Park, complete with lunch, prizes and plenty of community spirit.

Whether you attend the Cabaret, join the Trail Ride, pledge a rider or sponsor the event, your support helps LTRA provide accessible therapeutic riding and equine wellness services to children, youth and adults across Southern Alberta.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the 2026 Drive4Dreams Charity Golf Tournament such a huge success!

We were incredibly fortunate to have perfect weather for a beautiful day of golf, community, and support for a cause that means so much to us. Preliminary estimates indicate that this year’s tournament raised close to $50,000, with net proceeds of almost $40,000!

LTRA is busier than ever and it is your support that allows us to continue expanding our programs, maintaining a healthy and happy herd, and investing in the infrastructure needed to provide therapeutic riding and equine-assisted wellness services in our community.

Today, we want to recognize one of our incredible supporters!

Congratulations to and on celebrating the first anniversary of the Southland Institute of Welding at Winston Churchill High School. In just one year, more than 300 students have participated in the program—an outstanding achievement that is creating opportunities and developing valuable skills for the next generation of tradespeople!

What's even cooler? The students involved in the program chose to use their skills to give back to the community by building specialized equipment for the Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association.

Their projects included:

• A custom arena maintenance attachment for our Bobcat, helping us keep a safe, level riding surface for our therapeutic riding and equine wellness programs.

• A heavy-duty netted hay feeder that allows a single staff member to safely and efficiently feed our program horse partners.

These projects will have a lasting impact on our daily operations and help us continue delivering high-quality services to participants across Southern Alberta.

Thank you to Southland Trailer Corp for your ongoing support of our organization, our community, and for mentoring the next generation of talent entering the workforce. And to the welding students at Winston Churchill High School and your awesome teacher Colton: your talent, initiative, and willingness to help others are truly inspiring. We can't wait to see where your skills take you next!

Our Summer Session Registration is Open for Therapeutic Riding🐴☀️

We still have a few spaces available in our Therapeutic Riding Program over the summer, running from July-August!

Therapeutic lessons will run on Wednesdays during the day, providing participants with the opportunity to develop confidence, balance and coordination while also building meaningful connections with our incredible horses.
