To The Core Pilates and Nutrition is a locally owned studio that turns 17 this year!

Located just west of the downtown core we are massive supporters of our local charities as well as huge advocates for Discover Lloydminster and Think Lloyd First programs. Owned and operated by Donna Schellenberg, we began as a small family oriented facility which has grown with her own family over the years. We treat our clients as a part of our family and believe everyone that steps through our doors deserves the absolute best of what we have to offer. Our purpose has always been to awaken a life of limitless joy in others. Although that may sound strange to some, our clients have overcome massive obstacles that impacted every area of their lives. When you're in pain it's tough to enjoy life. It's difficult to move well, do the activities you love with the people you love the most. Often pain impacts incomes and jobs. Most often it impacts our relationships, our sense of self worth and our confidence. Finding joy in moving again gives people back their freedom and a new outlook for the future. We are proud to help people do just that. At To the Core Pilates & Nutrition it is our mission to encourage lifestyle choices that will improve health over the long term and to improve the quality of life of every client. We offer Therapeutic Pilates and specialize in pre and post natal health as well as post rehab care for hip and knee replacements as well as spinal issues such as scoliosis or disc herniations. To the Core also offers personalized Nutrition Coaching. We work with you to develop smart, effective eating choices to meet your fitness and health goals. Together, we will develop and analyze your habits, dietary needs, and track your progress with the support and resources you need. We believe in creating healthy and sustainable habits that last a lifetime and creating realistic goals and expectations for ourselves. No quick fixes or "no pain, no gain" workouts to be found here. We teach our clients to be proactive about their health, listen to their own bodies and to become advocates for their own health and wellness.

Come for the Pilates. Stay because someone is still finishing a story 20 minutes after class ended 😂

That’s the vibe here at our Studio.

We catch up before class, laugh our way through class, and somehow always find more to talk about afterward. There’s encouragement, the occasional dramatic groan and absolutely no pressure to already know what you’re doing.

We work hard... but we don’t take ourselves too seriously.

It’s easygoing, welcoming and a little like family… except this is one family gathering you’ll actually look forward to 😂😂😂

We are thrilled and humbled to share that our very own Donna Schellenberg has been nominated for Business Woman of the Year at the Business Excellence Awards for 2026!

Donna’s heart and dedication to building a healthier, stronger community sit at the very core of everything we do here at To The Core. From day one, her passion has been helping people move better, feel stronger, and embrace wellness as a way of life.

Thank you to everyone who nominated Donna and continues to support our studio. To our incredible clients: thank you for trusting us with your movement journeys, cheering each other on, and making our studio feel like home.

Congratulations to all of the inspiring women nominated in this category, and to every business recognized this year. We are so proud to be part of such a supportive, vibrant business community.

You don’t need hours in the gym to feel better.

You just need to move - consistently. Even 10 minutes a day counts (yes, really!).

Our classes are set up to help you build consistency into your week with Pilates classes 2× per week, same time, same place. 📅

Why? Because blocking time for regular movement leads to massive health benefits over time.

And on the days you’re not in the studio? Movement can still be simple + effective:
🔹 Try our 15-min movement videos at home
🔹 Add a quick 10-minute walk, swinging arms opposite your feet for a fascia reset
🔹 Knock out a few squats while grabbing a snack
🔹 Park farther away to sneak in extra steps

Small actions ➡️ New habits ➡️ A stronger, healthier YOU 💪

Are you ready to start showing up for yourself?

Why Your Pilates Instructor Is Watching Your Ribs 👀

Ever wonder why we correct your breathing or rib position during core exercises? We aren't just watching your abs, we are observing a dynamic connected system:

The Connection Loop: Ribcage ↔ Spine ↔ Pelvis ↔ Breath.

What We Look For: Are you holding your breath? Is the ribcage moving fluidly or locked up rigid? Is your spine staying supported without creating neck or shoulder compensation?

When the ribcage loses control and becomes overly lifted or disconnected, it alters how your entire trunk supports movement. The real question isn't just "Can you do the exercise?" It’s "Can you control your ribcage while doing it?"

Have you ever noticed your ribs flaring or lifting during core work? Drop a comment below!

Help us wish the happiest of birthdays to the one and only Brooke today! 🎉🎂

Another year wiser, stronger, and somehow making every class demo look effortless. If you've been in one of her classes you already know she gets easily derailed by talk about ice cream, counts slowly so you get the most out of your hundreds, and loves to joke around. 😂

Make sure to leave a comment below or give Brooke a big high-five next time you’re in class! 🥂
