If you could record one artist, who would it be?

This is where it all begins. 🎙️
Today’s lesson starts with the basics of recording and input monitoring in Pro Tools, then begins building into tracks, playlists, voices, and the workflow students will use throughout the year.
But learning the fundamentals doesn’t have to be boring.
Sometimes you record from a CD player. Sometimes you bring a student up to perform some very dramatic Katy Perry lyrics over it. 😂
The concepts start simple. Then we keep building.

It’s not always the $100,000 console that fails you. Sometimes it’s the $12 cable plugged into it. 🔧🎛️

That’s why OIART students learn the hands-on skills that come with working in audio, including how to build, repair, troubleshoot, and test their own cables.

Whether you end up in a studio, on a stage, on set, or in post, knowing how to solve the problem when something stops working is part of the job.
