It was a privilege to connect with the agricultural community at this premier showcase of industry innovation, equipment, and livestock. Construction is moving fast, and equipment installation inside the building is officially well underway. Key processing technology, including the new shredder, the state-of-the-art odour abatement system, and other critical infrastructure, is currently being set into place.

Convertus is gearing up to bring this incredible renewable energy project online, and seeing the interior take shape is a massive milestone for the facility.

These developments mark a significant step forward in preparing the site for future operations and advancing local renewable energy capabilities.

Convertus recently participated in Simon Fraser University 's Industry Talk hosted by the Sustainable Energy Engineering Student Society (SEESS).

During the event, Convertus Process Leader Kedarnath Nair, P.Eng, spoke about Convertus, what we do, and our mission of closing the loop for a better future. This session provided students with a real-world perspective on career paths following graduation, and the highly interactive session demonstrated strong student interest in exploring future opportunities with our team.

Convertus Group is pleased to announce the successful financial close of $135 million in project financing for our flagship biofuel facility located in York Region, Ontario.

We are grateful for the partnership and support of Power Sustainable Infrastructure Credit (PSIC), and to Selkirk Advisory Group for their expertise and guidance throughout the financing process.

This major milestone advances Canada’s first biofuel plant with integrated CO2 liquefaction technology toward commissioning and commercial operations. The state-of-the-art facility is designed to process up to 200,000 tonnes of organic waste annually and is expected to produce between 350,000 and 400,000 gigajoules of renewable natural gas each year. In addition to renewable natural gas, the facility will produce low-carbon liquid fertilizer and food-grade liquefied CO₂.

The project remains on schedule, with service commencement anticipated in early 2027.

Great progress is happening at Convertus York! The facility is really taking shape with the main receiving area coming together and the final floor slab officially poured in the depacking area. Outside, site infrastructure is advancing with ongoing pond construction, while inside, masonry for the maintenance workshop is complete. With the core structure locked in, our electrical teams have now mobilized on site to kick off the next major phase of development.
