🎶 Picnic on the Pond is becoming our Live Music Showcase!

A new name for our Thursday music series, with the same energy, settle in and enjoy live music together at The Leisure Learning Lab.

For our next showcase, we’re welcoming Willem James Cowan on Thursday, October 8!

Willem’s sweeping folk anthems have been capturing ears across Eastern Canada since 2018. Across three releases and a collection of singles, his music explores the quieter corners of the soul, pairing lush production with soft-spoken truths and an eye toward the future.

Come listen, unwind and spend your Thursday evening with us. ✨️

Your October just got a little more musical! ✨️

We’re welcoming Brent Jones to 3L for our next Music Monday on October 19.

A Canadian singer, songwriter, pianist and producer, Brent has spent years making music from Quiet Earth, his rural creative space just east of London. With 14 albums behind him and a brand new record, Rumours of Dawn, arriving this autumn, he’s bringing plenty of music and stories to share.

So grab your coffee, bring your lunch, take a seat and stay awhile.

Good music makes Mondays better!

And don’t forget our Pay Leisure Forward invitation! 💛 When you join us for a no-fee gathering, your café purchase supports today’s space, and your contribution helps make the next experience possible for someone else. The café supports today; Pay Leisure Forward supports tomorrow!

Thank you for such an incredibly loving and moving performance. You definitely have the gift of writing sad songs and we are here for it.

We’re thinking about making a little more noise at The Leisure Learning Lab.

We’re exploring the possibility of expanding our music programming and bringing music lessons, choirs and group music experiences into 3L — and we’d love to connect with local music teachers and facilitators who might want to be part of it.

We’re especially interested in people who teach or lead:

Guitar
Piano / Keys
Voice
Drums / Percussion
Bass
Songwriting
Music Production
Band / Ensemble Skills
Choirs / Group Singing

We’re looking for people who are warm, welcoming, creative and excited about helping people build a relationship with music — whether they’re complete beginners, returning after years away, joining a choir for the first time, or simply looking for a place to learn without the pressure of a traditional music-school environment.

Current availability would primarily be:

Evenings
Weekends

This could be a great fit for independent music teachers, choir leaders and facilitators looking for a beautiful, community-focused space to teach from and become part of a growing local music community.

Interested?

Send us a message or email us with a little about yourself, what you teach or facilitate, your experience, and your general availability.

✨ Slow down. Breathe. Let your lines wander.

Join us for a creative evening with Zentangle, a meditative art practice built around simple, repetitive patterns that come together to create something beautifully intricate.

You don't have to be an artist! Just bring yourself and let the process take you one line at a time.

During the session, you’ll learn the fundamentals of Zentangle, build your own little “tangle bank” of patterns, explore simple shading techniques, and settle into a rhythm where the rest of the day can fade into the background.

And at the end, you’ll have your own original Zentangle tile to take home and keep creating with.

Maybe it’s time to make something just for the fun of it. 🎨

On October 29, we’re spending a couple of hours with watercolours, taking inspiration from flowers and the natural world, and seeing where a little paint and colour can take us.

We’ll play around with loose, expressive techniques, experiment with shapes and textures, and make our way through the process together. You’ll get to take your own piece home at the end, too.

It’s beginner-friendly, so if it’s been a while since you picked up a paintbrush, this is a good place to start.

YOUR MUSIC DESERVES A ROOM.

Not just a stage. Not just a bar gig. A room where people actually came to hear you.

The Leisure Learning Lab is available for musicians and artists looking for a different kind of place to gather their people.

Record release party.
EP launch.
Private concert.
Listening party.
Album preview.
Music video premiere.
An intimate show you’ve been wanting to put on properly.
Something we haven’t thought of yet.

Bring the music. Build the night your way.

Our space was created around connection, creativity and community — with room for live performance, food, coffee, zero-proof drinks, conversation, merch, and the kind of lingering-after-the-last-song energy we think music deserves.

Whether you want 20 people sitting close to the stage or a room full of people celebrating something you’ve spent years making, we’d love to help you make it feel like yours.

Because London doesn’t need fewer places for artists to gather.

It needs more.

A new vibe set in over The Lab on Friday to set up for Monday!

Now when you visit with us, we are offering a front quiet space for those who want a little less music, talking, and people. The best part is it sits right among our growing Merch & Music shop at 3L.

We've also set up a new invitation for your daily reflection practice, "The Good Thing Exchange." Our community is invited to slow down, give a good thing and take a good thing. We believe that people arrive in spaces carrying things and most of these things are invisible. This is an invitation to make a few of them visible and share with the people that make up our incredible space.

Monday our very own Jess Jones takes the Tiny Corner from 12-1pm, and Cafe @ 3L is serving up Turkey Melt on Sourdough with your usual micro batch baking.

There is always something to feel when you visit with us.

🎶 October starts with a little soul.

Our first Picnic in the Pond Thursday evening music series of October is bringing Justin D’Croix to 3L!

Justin has been part of London’s music scene for more than a decade, performing as a solo artist and as the lead singer and guitarist of local funk band Fun Fact.

Expect soulful vocals, bluesy guitar, and a set that doesn’t like staying in one box. From Gershwin to Gnarls Barkley, Justin brings jazz, hip-hop, country, funk and everything in between together with his own grit and musicality.

📅 Thursday, October 1
🕡 6:30-8:30 PM
📍 The Leisure Learning Lab

Come ease into October with good music, good company and a Thursday evening well spent.

See you at 3L!
