More than a mini. A story worth keeping.
Some of my favourite photos have never been posed.
They’re the burst of laughter after the tickles.
The way your toddler reaches for your hand.
The quiet hug that happens when no one thinks I’m taking the photo.
Those are the moments that become the memories.
That’s why I stopped thinking about these as “mini sessions.”
Short Story Sessions are still short and simple - but they’re designed with intention. Less pressure to smile at the camera. More space to move, play, laugh, cuddle, and simply be together.
Because years from now, I don’t think your kids will remember being asked to say “cheese.”
They’ll remember how it felt to be wrapped up in your arms.
And those are the stories worth keeping.
Fall Short Story Sessions open tomorrow, and I can’t wait to tell a few more stories this season. 🤍

🍂 They’re almost here...
Every fall I create a limited number of Short Story Sessions—a chance to slow down, play together, and document your family exactly as you are in this season.
Three fall dates, all with separate locations (including this one - which sold out super quick last year) are releasing Friday!
If you’ve been hoping for fall photos this year, keep an eye on my page. I’ll be sharing all the details (and the booking link!) very soon.
I can’t wait to photograph your family’s next little chapter. 🤎

Parents often arrive hoping their kids will cooperate.
The kids arrive wondering if there are rocks to throw, sticks to collect, puddles to splash in, or someone to race.
They’re not thinking about creating memories.
They’re simply living them.
That’s why I don’t expect children to stand still for an hour or smile on cue.
I’d much rather photograph the way they reach for your hand, chase their brother down a trail, or proudly show Grandpa the tiniest rock they’ve found.
Because those are the moments that feel the most like childhood.
And years from now, I think that’s exactly what you’ll want to remember.

One of the biggest concerns parents tell me before a session is:
“What if my child doesn’t smile?”
Or…
“What if they don’t cooperate?”
The truth is, most of the children you see in my galleries aren’t smiling at the camera the entire time.
They’re exploring.
They’re twirling.
They’re cuddling their sibling one second and running off the next.
They’re being themselves.
A successful family session isn’t about getting children to perform for the camera.
It’s about creating enough space for their personality to show up.
Because years from now, you probably won’t be thinking about whether they smiled on command.
You’ll be remembering their laugh.
The way they held their brother’s hand.
The way they scrunched up their nose when they smiled.
The way they were.
And that’s what I want to preserve.

Some sessions aren’t about perfectly posed photos.
They’re about documenting the way it felt to be together in this season.
The quiet in-between moments.
The laughter that sneaks out naturally.
The way your partner looks at you when you’re not paying attention.
Your kids climbing into your lap.
A slow walk at sunset.
A picnic that turns into play.
That’s the kind of storytelling I’m always chasing.
If you’re worried about feeling awkward in photos or you don’t know what to “do” during a session — that’s where I come in. I’ll guide you the entire time with movement, prompts, and space to simply be together so your gallery feels honest, connected, and actually like you.
If you’ve been wanting a session that feels relaxed, natural, and story-driven, I’d love to help you plan one. DM me or inquire through the link in my bio. 🤍

These aren’t just minis.
They’re a small window into your real life, the way your kids move, the way you reach for them, the quiet in-between moments that usually go unnoticed.
Short story sessions are about capturing connection over perfection. Simple, relaxed, and intentional… but still meaningful enough to feel like your story when you look back on it.
15 minutes can hold more than you think.
