One of the largest textile recycling corporations in the world, it's home base in Maple Ridge, British Columbia is the heart and control center of the corporation, which empowers over 1000 employees globally, in both developed and developing nations. A member of the "British Columbia Apparel and Gear" association and key stakeholder in the "Fashion Takes Action - Textile Recycling Pilot" learning group, Canam is dedicated to and invested in the vision to create a circular textile economy. We hope to create a positive, sustainable impact on the world through the textile recycling industry by reducing textile waste while helping in the creation and distribution of 100% recycled fabrics. Canam hopes to influence leaders in the fashion industry to consider the use of recycled fabrics in their products in order to create a circular economy for textiles. The fashion industry is one of the highest polluting industries in the world, only surpassed by fuel and agriculture emissions. Investing in recycled fabrics would not only allow the substantial reduction of toxins in our environment and reduce the immense amount of water used in manufacturing new clothing, but also grants companies a status which is compliant with current sustainability and ESG standards.
