We’ve reached the final member of our Class of the Past!

For the last stop in our back-to-school trip through the museum archives, we’re heading outside for a lunch break with four high school friends from the 1930s.

This c. 1930s photograph (P02883) captures four high school girls enjoying box lunches together on the grass. Good food, good company, and a sunny spot to eat, sounds like a pretty great school day to us!

Sunday, September 20th | 11 AM–2 PM | Haney House Museum

Celebrate the apple harvest with an afternoon of hands-on activities, family fun, and a little taste of fall.

At 12:30 PM, join us for a live juice press demonstration followed by a taste test of the freshly pressed juice! Throughout the event, enjoy Haney House tours, lawn games, apple taste testing, butter churning, a scavenger hunt, and apple-themed crafts.

Back-to-school season continues with another trip into the museum archives!

This week, we’re meeting another member of our Class of the Past, and this student looks like they’re taking their studies very seriously!

🏆 This week’s superlative: MOST STUDIOUS! 🏆

This 1979 photograph (P07497) shows a student reading at a round table in the school library at Hammond Elementary School. With a book in hand and a quiet spot to study, they certainly made a strong case for Most Studious!

This summer, our Headstone Preservation Project volunteers came together to help care for and preserve the headstones at Maple Ridge Cemetery and Whonnock Cemetery.

With headstones dating back to over 100 years ago, these cemeteries are an important part of our community’s history. Thanks to the dedication of our incredible volunteers, we were able to clean approximately 450 headstones this season! What an amazing accomplishment.

We are so grateful to everyone who donated their time, energy, and care to help preserve these pieces of our local history. We can’t wait to see you all again next year!
