Looking Ahead: SD42 Financial Awards (Scholarship Book)

📖 In January, the SD42 Financial Awards (Scholarship Book) will be released. A scholarship presentation will be offered at that time to explain the application process and answer questions.

How Can You Prepare Now?

✔️ Request two reference letters

One reference from someone within the school (teacher, counsellor, administrator, coach, etc.)
One reference from someone outside the school (employer, volunteer supervisor, community leader, coach, etc.)

✔️ Write a personal essay

Prepare a 1 to 1½ page essay about yourself.
Include your goals, accomplishments, challenges you've overcome, extracurricular activities, volunteer work, and future plans.

✔️ Keep track of volunteer and community service hours

Record dates, organizations, contact information, and hours completed.
Save certificates, letters, emails, or any proof of participation.

💰 Start preparing now! Having your references, essay, and volunteer records ready will make scholarship season much easier and help you submit stronger applications when the SD42 Financial Awards open in January. 🎓✨
