Some people support you from the front, while others quietly make things happen behind the scenes. Maryam was one of those people for us.
Our founder’s first interview was arranged by Maryam. She saw potential in people, believed in genuine dreams, and was always willing to open a door or create an opportunity for someone else.
She was also a trusted advisor to PESBODS, always willing to share thoughtful and directional advice on our programmes and events. She rooted for us, believed in what we were building, and never missed our galas.
Maryam gave visibility, created space, supported businesses, encouraged leaders, and poured into her community in ways that will continue to speak long after her passing.
Her presence will be deeply missed, but the lives she touched and the opportunities she helped create will remain part of her legacy.
Thank you, Maryam, for believing in us, for showing up, and for everything you poured into the community.
May God comfort her family, loved ones, and everyone who mourns this great loss.
Rest well, Maryam. PESBODS will forever cherish your memory and the impact you made.

PESBODS was highly represented at the 2nd Annual Know Your Blood Health Symposium held on Saturday, September 12, 2026.
With the theme “Our Blood, Our Health, Our Community,” the symposium brought people together for meaningful conversations around blood health, awareness, education and the importance of coming together to save lives.
We were glad to be part of a gathering that encouraged learning, connection and community support.
Here are a few moments from the day.

September is Sickle Cell Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness, educate, and challenge the misconceptions surrounding sickle cell.
Sickle cell is a genetic condition that affects the shape of red blood cells, which can impact how oxygen moves through the body.
Yet, despite how much we know about the condition, many myths and misconceptions still shape how people understand and treat those living with sickle cell.
Swipe through to learn the facts and bust some of the most common myths about sickle cell.

On International Day of Charity, we’re reminded that giving isn’t only about what we have to offer—it’s about choosing to make a difference in someone else’s life.
A meal, a helping hand, a kind word, or simply showing up can create a ripple of hope that reaches farther than we imagine.
Let’s continue to build a world where every child feels seen, supported and valued.
