This week’s challenge: Add a little orange to your plate!
Encourage your child to explore an orange fruit or vegetable. It could be something they already love or something completely new!
Remember, variety doesn’t have to mean a perfect rainbow on every plate. Introducing different foods and colours over time counts too.

Every parent has a backup snack!
In the backpack. In the kitchen. Maybe even in the car. Because hungry kids happen, and being prepared with a simple snack can make life a little easier.
What’s your family’s go-to “just in case” snack?
Keep smart snacks handy. We’ll take care of lunch. Order now at order.thelunchlady.ca

If broccoli gets a suspicious look today, don’t give up on it just yet.
Repeated, pressure-free exposure can give children more opportunities to become comfortable with unfamiliar foods.
They may look at it, smell it, touch it, taste a tiny bite or eventually decide they like it.
The goal isn’t to force a clean plate. Keep offering variety and give kids opportunities to explore.

Looking for an easy way to make snack time a little smarter?
Think PAIR, not perfect. Pairing two simple foods can add variety and make for a satisfying snack—without making things complicated.
Try apple + cheese, carrots + hummus, berries + yogurt, or cucumber + whole-grain crackers.
Simple. Nutritious. Kid-friendly.

Welcome to our Colour of the Week!
Encouraging kids to explore different coloured fruits and vegetables is a fun, simple way to build more variety into what they eat.
This week’s challenge: Try just one red fruit or vegetable!
No perfect plate required. Just keep exploring.

Between getting everyone dressed, fed, packed and out the door, school mornings can be a lot.
Let The Lunch Lady take lunch off your plate. We’ll take care of theirs — giving kids a meal they can enjoy and parents one less thing to plan and pack.
Good for them. Easier for you.

New school year = new food adventures!
The start of school is full of new experiences, so why not bring a little adventure to lunchtime too?
Trying different flavours and foods can be fun and today's “I'm not sure…” might just become tomorrow's “Can I have that again?”
Encourage your little food explorer to give something new a try this school year.
