Happy world cardmaking day! I celebrated by doing a special cardmaking live video this morning and now…a blooming onion at the Markham fair

Today is the national day of truth and reconciliation. This day is a reminder of the residential school system and the harm it caused many indigenous families. Although I’m working alone at home today, I’m wearing orange in solidarity to remember the lives lost, families broken and the struggle survivors continue to experience.

Looking for the perfect gift for you or someone else? Enjoy 12 days of crafting surprises with this calendar. A special gift hiding behind each door! Also includes a great stamp set!

Throwback to 2012 when I went to my very first incentive trip with Stampin Up! I have some special memories from that first trip. Two impactful moments was when one of the leadership team members spoke to me and congratulated me personally, looking me straight in the eyes. I felt so seen and appreciated. Then she turned to Kevin, and thanked him for all the ways he supports me. The second memory was getting to attend a special show at a Disney park. If you know Disney, you’ll remember the Indiana Jones show with its exciting ending and then bam, the backdrop falls away and there’s a special banquet dinner prepared just for us complete with Disney characters. I loved the “surprise and delight” experience. Those experiences influenced me in how I run my small little stampin business. I try to connect personally with everyone and always remember how grateful I am for the opportunity to connect and serve each person. I also try to incorporate surprise and delight experiences in my events (like golden tickets and pillow gifts) 🎁 Thanks for reading this little installment as part of “my story” as I approach my 19th anniversary of being a stampin Up demonstrator. It’s influenced me positively in so many ways! I’m so grateful I said yes to the opportunity! P.s I am required to share that earning an incentive trip is an exceptional achievement earned by a small percentage of demonstrators

Chapter 3: Welcome to another installment in my Stampin Up journey! This is a photo of myself and my three kids maybe about 14 years ago at Disneyworld. Little did I know when I became a demonstrator almost 19 years ago that it would allow me to teach my children the value of staying the course, being faithful, responsible and consistent in small things. Maybe it wasn’t always convenient that sometimes I was not available to drive them somewhere exactly when they wanted or maybe I asked them for help welcoming people in our home when I did events (anyone remember my youngest manning the raffle ticket prize table?) but I always tried to use those moments as teaching moments. Teaching them what it might look like to show hospitality, teaching them what it might look like to do tasks you don’t love in order to work towards a bigger goal or purpose. I was also able to show them a nontraditional way that I could earn some extra money for our family. I just simply set up a separate bank account and any earnings from my demonstrator efforts would deposit into that account. I would use that money to buy my crafting supplies for business and pleasure (no more using the family money for my hobby) and then over time I noticed that the amount in that account grew. It was little by little but I saw that gradually I was earning more than I was spending and over time I was able to save enough money to take the family on a trip to Disney world. Yes, it took effort and perseverance and I know not all demonstrators choose this path but I’m grateful for how being a Stampin Up! Demonstrator allowed me to teach and bless my children. Even now, almost 19 years later, I’m still sharing with my kids things I’m learning in my small business and how that applies to things they may be facing in their life, relationships or jobs.
