Step into the night sky with me, where my telescope reveals the hidden wonders of the cosmos. Every photo and video you see here is my own. 🫑

Together, we’ll journey through the infinite beauty of the universe. Astrophotography with DSLR. I don't need the best Telescope or Didicated Astro Camera. I'll get there someday!

✨ The Veil Nebula - A Ghostly Remnant of a Stellar Explosion

Imagine a massive star ending its life in a spectacular supernova explosion thousands of years agoβ€”and the breathtaking cosmic aftermath still glowing across space today. ✨

Located about 2,400 light-years away in the constellation Cygnus, the Veil Nebula is a vast and delicate network of glowing gas and dust. It forms the visible portion of the Cygnus Loop, an enormous expanding shell created by a supernova roughly 8,000–20,000 years ago. ⭐

Its intricate, thread-like filaments are shock waves from that ancient explosion, racing through interstellar space and causing surrounding gas to glow. What appears to be a delicate cosmic curtain is actually the immense shock front and expanding remains of a long-dead star.

πŸ” Some of the most recognizable parts of the Veil Nebula include πŸ˜‰

✨ Western Veil β€” NGC 6960
A long, wispy filament stretching across the sky. It is sometimes called the Witch's Broom Nebula because of its distinctive appearance.

✨ Eastern Veil β€” NGC 6992 & NGC 6995
A spectacular collection of bright, tangled filaments forming the eastern portion of the supernova remnant.

✨ Pickering's Triangle
A faint, triangular sheet of glowing gas located between the Western and Eastern Veil. Its delicate structure makes it one of the most fascinating features of the Cygnus Loop. 🀩

Tonight is my first night imaging with this 180mm telescope. I’m going to shoot the North America and Pelican Nebulae. I’ll share the image once I finish editing it. 😊

First night out with this 180mm scope(Askar FRA 180 pro)! I’m aiming for the North America Nebula. We’ll see how it performs under my Bortle 9 skies. πŸ™‚

For my Astro friends who are using this telescope, I’d love to hear about your experience with it! πŸ”βœ¨

✨ The West Veil Nebula (Witch’s Broom Nebula, Filamentary Nebula, NGC 6960) β€” the ghostly remains of a star that exploded thousands of years ago. 😍

Located about 2,400 light-years away in the constellation Cygnus, the West Veil Nebula is part of the enormous Veil Nebula supernova remnant.

What we’re seeing here is the aftermath of a massive stellar explosion... a vast, delicate shell of glowing gas expanding through space.

I captured this image over two clear nights from my Bortle 9 sky. It took many hours of collecting light to bring out the faint structures and subtle details hidden within this beautiful nebula. ✨

Thank you for looking, and clear skies! πŸ”β

Another clear night! The forecast called for clouds around 11 PM, but so far, the sky has stayed clear. My telescope is locked onto the West Veil Nebula, collecting more data to add to last night's image. Hoping the clear skies hold! 🀞✨

Here's one of my latest projects...the beautiful Clamshell Nebula (Sh2-119) in Cygnus, a vast cloud of glowing hydrogen gas about 2,500 light-years away. Its distinctive shell-like shape has been sculpted by the powerful radiation and stellar winds from the massive blue star 68 Cygni. Although it spans an area about four times the apparent size of the full Moon, its extremely faint glow requires many hours of exposure to reveal its intricate filaments, dark dust lanes, and delicate structure.

This is a very faint target, and I've spent four clear nights imaging it using a dual narrowband Hα/OIII filter, collecting a total of 10 hours 20 minutes, plus an additional 4 hours 40 minutes with a dual narrowband SII/OIII filter under my Bortle 9 skies. I'm still gathering more data on this amazing target, and I'll continue until I achieve the result I'm after. So far, though, I'm very happy with the progress. 😍

Thank you for taking a look, and as always… clear skies! βœ¨πŸ™πŸ”

✨ The Omega Nebula (M17) – A Stellar Nursery in the Heart of the Milky Way 😍

Located about 5,500 light-years away in the constellation Sagittarius, the Omega Nebula (M17) is one of our galaxy's brightest star-forming regions. This spectacular cloud of glowing gas and dust is home to thousands of young stars Also known as the Swan Nebula. πŸŒŒπŸ’«

Clear Skies! ✨

Here's the Lion Nebula I captured the other night from my Bortle 9, light-polluted frontyard. 😍

Have a great week and Clear skies! ✨

My project continues tonight! The clamshell Nebula πŸ”

Who else is out shooting deep-sky objects (DSOs) tonight? πŸ˜‰πŸ˜

The Moon is big, but my target is far enough away that I'm hoping to avoid any moon glow.

Clear skies, everyone! ✨
