A faster construction schedule can sometimes start with something that’s already built.

This is The Hawthorn, one of the completed buildings currently available through CIP Modular.

It’s a 960 sq. ft., two-module office with four private offices, an accessible washroom, a large central multi-use area and kitchenette. The interior can also be reconfigured to better suit the organization putting it to work.

But the most important feature for the right client may simply be its availability.

One of modular construction’s advantages is the ability to reduce the amount of work taking place at the final site. Selecting a completed building from available inventory can push that advantage further by removing the building-production stage from the client's upcoming schedule.

Site preparation, permitting, transportation and installation still need to be planned properly. But the building itself? It’s already here.

For companies, communities and organizations with a near-term need for office space, available inventory can be worth considering before commissioning a new build.

Day 1 is underway.

Mike Davies hit the road this morning for the start of his Western Canada trip, beginning—as most Vancouver Island road trips do—with a ferry ride.

Over the coming days, Mike will be travelling through BC and Alberta to spend some face-to-face time with clients, partners, industry friends and new connections.

The current route will take him through Kamloops, Kelowna, Lethbridge, Calgary, Red Deer, Edmonton, Jasper and Prince George before working his way back home.

But there's intentionally some flexibility built into the trip. If another meeting or worthwhile conversation comes up along the way, Mike is happy to make the detour.

We'll share a few updates from the road as the trip continues.
