For him it was an art of understanding, your body feels it first. It was immediately understood that his art was delicate. Not a material softness, but a softness of the soul. His art expressed the depth of his heart and his emotion. He wasn't trying to be someone he was not. He was a whole person, and this made what he had to offer priceless. As many years passed he could now feel that art reflects what you have inside of you. It's an expression of your inner life. He hadn't felt that before.
