Boys will be boys - Made of dirt, mischief, and a little bit of magic. š¤£
Just went entirely outside of my comfort zone and did a thing!
Those who have followed me throughout the years probably know that I love writing. It gives me the time to mull things over, rewrite, and find the words Iām looking for.
Verbal communication, on the other hand, has never come as naturally to me. I tend to overthink, get lost in my words, and sometimes forget what I was trying to say altogether.
So today, I pushed myself WAY outside of my comfort zone and went LIVE on Kootenay Co-op Radio to talk with Mike about the womenās business group I host - Empowering Women: Small Business Meetup - Nelson BC. Itās a group that has become such an important part of my own journey as a small business owner with Trista Verhesen.
Was it perfect? Probably not. But I did it, and Iām incredibly proud of myself for pushing through something that genuinely makes me nervous.
And a huge thank you to the incredible women in our group who continue to inspire and encourage me. To Jess, for building me up and giving me the confidence to say yes, and to Topaz, for believing this was a conversation worth having and making it happen. Iām so grateful for the people in my circle.
I can do hard things. ā¤ļø

Which fall wardrobe style would you choose for your family photos? š
Light & Timeless
Soft sage, dusty blue, oatmeal, pale camel and faded rose. Airy, gentle and naturally beautiful.
Dark & Moody
Deep forest green, rich rust, navy, mustard and warm brown. Cozy, nostalgic and full of autumn character.
Both palettes are designed to coordinate without everyone matching and include beautiful layers and textures that photograph wonderfully.
Tell me below: Light & Timeless or Dark & Moody?

One of the privileges of my life has been leading the womenās business group in Nelson.
The past two years have been such a highlight, filled with connection, support, collaboration, and so many incredible women.
Yesterday, we said goodbye to one of our founding members, Topaz, as she heads into her next chapter and new ventures. Of course, we couldnāt send her off without flowers, treats, and a little celebration.
Wishing you all the best, Topaz. Weāll miss having you in the group, but weāre excited to see where this next chapter takes you!

Thereās something about childhood that was never meant to be perfectly posed.
The way they see the world.
The way they explore it.
The little pieces of who they are that change before you even realize theyāre changing.
These are the photographs I want you to remember.
When inspiration hits, sleep is optional. š
Not every photograph deserves to become artwork.
And thatās exactly why I curate.
Because when you choose to put an image on your wall, I believe it should be more than a pretty photograph.
It should make you stop.
It should bring you back to a little hand you once held, the freckles across a tiny nose, the way your child looked at you before they grew another inch.
These are the photographs that become part of your home ā and eventually, part of your familyās story.
I donāt believe in creating hundreds of images just to have them live on a hard drive.
I believe in choosing the ones that deserve to be printed, framed, held, and passed down.
The kind of artwork your children might one day see hanging in their own home and say,
āI remember this.ā
Because photographs were never meant to live only on a screen.
They were meant to live with us. š¤

Iāve always believed photographs should be more than something beautiful to look at.
They should make you feel something.
They should bring you back to a moment, a season, a little face, a certain kind of love that you never want to forget.
Thatās why I photograph the way I do.
Because your memories deserve more than a place on your phone.
They deserve to be seen.
To be felt.
To be lived with.
And honestly, thereās nothing I love more than helping families turn the fleeting moments of their lives into artwork they get to experience every single day.
The moment you sit down to cull your images⦠and realize theyāre ALL just so dang cute! š
You tell yourself, āOkay, be ruthless. You donāt need 47 versions of the same moment.ā
And then you zoom in⦠and thereās that little smile. š„¹
That tiny hand.
That look.
That little piece of personality you just canāt let go of.
And suddenly, your ruthless culling session has turned into, āWell⦠I guess weāre keeping this one too.ā š
The struggle is REAL when your clients are this dang cute! ā¤ļø
