My take away from my graduation convocation is that shoes matter. I had a few folks mention my shoes♡ my black and white saddle shoe. It one of my items that I worried that if I didn't wear, I wasnt my authentic self. What to wear as a q***r person is taxing enough in public but to walk across a stage, as the center of attention even for a moment... clothing is so calculated.

I had asked for my middle name to be the name spoken, but my full name was used. Its not big for me as its my legal name, I don't fight it. Just that the preferred name was allowed though out school.

I am proud of this achievement and happy to have participated. I Acknowledge that I didn't do it alone. , and that my supports built on previous experiences.

I have a Bachelors, Diploma, Certificate and the military. Each have been integral for my learning and development.

But back to shoes, wear what's comfortable, be authentic. Be unabashedly authentic.
