was amazing fun. Every age level was out on track - we had parade laps with accessible vehicles, family cars loaded with kids, and even sponsor Klassen Landscape Supply Abbotsford with their highway tractor. We had race cars and we had performance cars. We had cheeseburgers and hotdogs! To the person who couldn’t get a veggie burger reach out to me, because we had those too! We are still sorting out the numbers but between the track event, the silent auction, and the out of this world donations our fundraising dream was not only met but exceeded. Looks like just over $25,000 for Emmett’s wheelchair van fun with about $5,000 more divided between our two charity partners Canuck Place Childrens Hospice and Cure SMA Canada . I so greatly appreciate the drivers who brought their cars out and drove hundreds of laps for charity. This event wouldn’t have happened without each of you. Huge thanks to Mission Raceway for going above and beyond with their support. Peter at Velocity Autosports had his entire family out to ensure our event ran smoothly. Parabolic Sim Motion was there with their sim station and inspired a whole new generation of racers. Sidewinder was there demonstrating an accessible van. Cottonwood RV Sales and Service not only keeps my RV - which served as our Registration Centre - in tip top shape but they also support Emmett in multiple ways! Save-On-Foods made the BBQ a great success - all of the Abbotsford/Mission stores supported our event! Racegear.ca and Country Tire were not only sponsors but were driving and also supplied and installed tires on Emmett’s current accessible van.

Did you know that Emmett started using a power wheelchair when he was 16 months old? At that time, he was the youngest child in BC to ever be setup to operate an electric power wheelchair. Did you know that he was one of 124 kids in the world involved in the drug trial for the drug that became known as Spinraza.

Did you know that Emmett is an avid reader. He finished reading the Harry Potter series earlier this summer and that his school librarian thought he might read every book in the school library? So he has quite a few books that come from -bookman - and we’ve got a gift certificate for their stores.
Did you know that Emmett just recently stopped making me organize my garage/workbench! As a result it is so cluttered that there was no room for the Milwaukee tool package from BlackwoodHomeHardware - so I must put it in the auction rather than keep it for myself!

If you’ve followed Emmett’s Journey then you know that Dao helped us out with a disk brake package for the All-Terrain Chair, parts we needed for the Wee-Hoo trailer, and absolutely parts for both Theo’s and my mountain bikes.
