Join us at the Kanata Seniors Council Health Fair! PCSO will be at the Kanata Seniors Centre on Saturday, October 19. Stop by our booth to talk about prostate cancer or just say hello. You can talk with people who have been through prostate cancer themselves and ask any questions you may have. The fair also offers free screenings and information on heart health, medication safety, mental health, keeping fit, and more. The blood pressure, foot care, and hearing clinics need an appointment, you can call 613-580-2980 to book. Bring a friend, your partner, or anyone who should be thinking about their health. We hope to see you there!

For Prostate Cancer Support Ottawa, the support goes beyond the patient. Behind a man facing prostate cancer, there's usually someone beside him: a wife or partner, a son or daughter, a close friend. They're part of this journey too, and they need support as much as anyone. That's why our social drop-ins, BBQs, and community events are open to the whole family. Partners come to listen, to share, and to connect with others who understand exactly what they're living with.
Nobody should have to face this alone, whether they're the one with the diagnosis or the one holding his hand. Come join us. Bring the people who matter most.

Join us for our October PCSO meeting on Thursday, October 15, at 6:00 p.m. at the Ottawa Cancer Foundation's Maplesoft-Jones Centre. Our guest speaker is Alisha Oliver, a Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist at the Ottawa Cancer and Lymphatics Centre. She'll talk about pelvic floor recovery during and after prostate cancer treatment, a topic a lot of men have questions about and not many get to ask.

What a way to close out the season! 🚣♂️🥇
On Saturday, September 12, the Great Big C dragon boat team was back on the Mississippi River for the Carleton Place Dragon Boat Festival. The weather was perfect, and the results were even better: Great Big C took home gold, as winners of the Men's Cancer Cup. Every paddler on this team is a cancer survivor.
Each year the team gets stronger and the bond among them grows deeper. All boats came to the docks again this year for the Flower Ceremony. This moving ceremony and tribute to all those living with the disease is an uplifting experience for all paddlers and demonstrates that there is life after a diagnosis.
PCSO is proud to stand behind Great Big C. Congratulations on a golden finish!

Doug was at the Eastern Counties Ride For Dad event this weekend, sharing his story. He's a prostate cancer survivor, and the organizers asked him to get up on stage and speak. He did, and he spoke from experience. That's what we're about: men who've been through it talking to men who need to hear it. Thanks, Doug, and thanks to the Eastern Counties team for allowing us to share our message.
