✦ ✦ ✦

In the summer of 2024, I found out I was pregnant with my second baby. We did the NIPT test at 10 weeks and it came back low risk, and let us know that we were having a boy.

Over the following weeks, I continued to have what I considered to be a great pregnancy. All my prenatal appointments and ultrasounds were positive. I was getting to know my son, Lawrence, as a healthy, very active, energetic little boy.

At 20 weeks, the anatomy ultrasound showed some markers for congenital issues. The whole time, the comments were about how great the NIPT test is and how shocked everyone was to be seeing issues when the test said low risk. We did two amnios and confirmed that there was some congenital issues and that potentially my son would have epilepsy, as well as a slew of other mobility and developmental issues.

After agonizing over what to do for weeks, we made the impossible decision to terminate. I had just reached 6 months gestation when I gave birth and said goodbye to my son.

The decision was made purely out of love. I did love you, my son. I do love you and I’ll think of you every day.

xx Andrea & SP

✦ ✦ ✦

Termination for medical reasons (TFMR) is one of the most devastating decisions a parent may ever face. It adds another layer of complex emotions, grief, silence, and misunderstanding to an already heartbreaking loss.

Thank you Andrea and SP for sharing a piece of your precious Lawrence’s story. By doing so, you are helping create space for greater understanding, compassion, connection, and support for other families navigating baby loss, while continuing to honour Lawrence’s life and legacy. 🤍🦋

Flora’s Nanny, Sandra Dupuis, is raising awareness and money for Roger Neilson’s Children’s Hospice (RNCH) through jewelry making. She has launched FlutterKind - follow along to see her creations and take part in giving back to an incredible cause 🤍🦋

The story behind FlutterKind...

FlutterKind was created in loving memory of my granddaughter, Flora, after her stillbirth in May 2025.🤍🦋

Inspired by my daughter-in-law’s courage in sharing Flora’s story, and connecting with others experiencing pregnancy and infant loss, through her own mission Threads for Flora, I started FlutterKind with a mission to give back and spread kindness. Creating meaningful jewelry gave me a focus and became my own form of therapy. Butterflies are Flora's parents chosen symbol of remembrance and you'll notice a number of butterfly mentions, emoji's and even a full collection of butterfly earrings if you continue to follow along 🦋

Flora is forever held in our hearts. She remains a cherished part of our family and is the inspiration behind every FlutterKind creation.

Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice (RNCH) was an incredible source of support for our family, offering resources, grief counselling, and parents and grandparents support groups. Through them we found connection, comfort, and hope.

🤍100% of proceeds from FlutterKind are donated to RNCH🤍

For Everly Mae 🐇💛
Name Collection

✦ ✦ ✦

Everly Mae was, and is, my entire world. She lived to be 9 months and 27 days before her life was tragically taken from her, and we pray for her justice. Everly was a little 14 pound girl with a big personality. Her big brown eyes would pull people in, and her smile was infectious. She was tender-hearted and caring, and so inquisitive about the world around her. She adored watching little birds fly at the pet store, and loved walks in nature. Her favourite food was pears. She is the kind of soul this world needs more of.

I started Everly’s Embrace in September 2025. It is a Non-Profit for infant and pregnancy loss. I wanted to weave my daughter’s life and story into as many other people’s lives as I can, so I crochet bunnies and mail them all around the world to families. We also supply hospitals with bereavement care packages, and give labor and delivery units new outfits for babies on ‘Everly’s Closet’ carts.

My daughter is why I’m still here and I push forward, even though life is horrific. I’m here to help other bereaved families and to spread Everly Mae’s love and embrace.

xx Sara, Everly Mae’s mom

Addison Eva, our IVF miracle was born on December 18, 2025 at 41+3 (our little girl was so comfy in there!). Complications during labour resulted in Addy having a lack of oxygen to her brain (HIE) which resulted in her passing on December 19th, 2025.

Addy was a fighter from the moment she was born, she was transferred from the Ottawa Civic Hospital to the CHEO NICU where she fought tirelessly until she could no longer fight. Addison passed away peacefully in her daddy’s arms with her mom right beside her. Addison will forever be the little angel who made us parents and we will continue to say her name for the rest of our days. 🤍🦋

xx Maria & Nick, Addison’s mom & dad

✦ ✦ ✦

These are more than stories; they are real lives and deeply loved babies, shared openly in hopes of breaking the silence around baby loss. Together, we can create safe space to say our babies’ names.

✨While no one ever wants this loss community to grow, connecting with other loss families through Threads for Flora has been deeply meaningful and incredibly beautiful. One of those meaningful connections was meeting Addison’s mom. She carries such grace, compassion, hope, and love rooted in her baby Addison. Meeting her has inspired me even more to continue this work.

It also reminded me of the power of symbols, like the butterfly. It’s ok to let symbols, whatever they may be, bring moments of hope, comfort, and joy.🦋

For Everitt “EV” 🤍🐇💗
Memorial Frame Collection
6” round hoop

✦ ✦ ✦

Everitt, or EV (ee-vee) as we call her, was our first child. Motherhood wasn’t something I was sure was in the cards for me, so finding out I was pregnant with EV was such a shock and a joy.

At our anatomy scan it was discovered that my cervix was incredibly short (1.1cm). For context, anything under 2.5cm is a concern. By the time MFM could see me just over a week later, there was only 0.3cm left. It was then we knew that everything would not be what we expected. EV hung on until August 14th, at 11:40pm, born at 23+6, just 20 minutes shy of 24 weeks. At 1lb 7oz, she had size on her side. Together we spent 70 days at the General, then 48 more at CHEO. Those 118 days challenged me in ways I never thought possible, but also remain the most precious gift I have ever received. I treasure all of the time we got to spend together. EV fought to be with us every day and she gave us absolutely everything she had. In December it became clear that the fight was too much for her and she passed away after 118 days with us. We’re so grateful to Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice for making it possible for us to have some sort of homecoming. EV passed peacefully there, surrounded by loving family.

This beautiful piece hangs as another loving reminder of my sweet lady, my baby bunny and the beautiful time we shared together.

xx Emma and Devin, EV’s mom and dad

✦ ✦ ✦

Thank you, Emma and Devin, for your openness in sharing your precious baby and her story. EV’s legacy continues through the love and advocacy you carry forward. I know EV is so proud.

For Violet 💜🪻
Name Collection

🩶🌿 Sweatshirt in Purple provided by customer
🪡 Hand Embroidery in Cream by Threads for Flora

This one was thoughtfully ordered by a loss mom for a loss mom – a meaningful colour, in honour of a beautiful little life 💜🪽

✦ ✦ ✦

After years of hoping for a baby, Violet became our IVF miracle. At 16 weeks, Violet was diagnosed with trisomy 21 (Down syndrome), with no immediate health concerns.

The diagnosis was initially very difficult, wondering what Violet’s life would look like. However, we were so excited to meet Violet and show her unconditional love.

At 35 weeks, fluid was discovered around her lungs and heart, and she was closely monitored by a team of high risk doctors.

At 36 weeks +1 day, Violet was delivered by c-section. She spent 5 days in the Ottawa General NICU before being transferred to CHEO, where she bravely fought for 16 more days.

Despite her strength and resilience, Violet developed an infection that led to sepsis. After just 21 days on this earth, Violet passed away peacefully in her mom’s arms on October 3, 2025, surrounded by immense love.

Violet will always be our first baby, and lives forever in our hearts💜

xx Katie & Jordan, Violet’s mom and dad
