Both double teams did well representing Fellowes at yesterday’s EOSSAA junior tennis tournament in Kingston. Levi and Oliver made it to the quarterfinals and lost in a tough tiebreaker match 7-5. They played at the Kingston racket centre (dome).
The McKenna’s (Barrett and Crigger) lost in the quarterfinals as well in a tough tiebreaker match 10-8. They played at the Kingston tennis centre.
The conveners took aside Coach Barrett and told her how her athletes had amazing attitudes, and great sportsmanship and represented Fellowes well. So proud!

Universities from all over the province congregated in the Fellowes gymnasium on Monday, providing senior students with the opportunity to explore their post secondary options. From 11:00 to 1:00, representatives from different schools were on hand to answer questions about programs, future career paths, and campus life in general.

What a wonderful day with an amazing group of 50 students! On October 1, the Fellowes Cosmetology students, along with others interested in the beauty industry, visited Academy 2121 Esthetics & Hair School and a cosmetic trade show at the Cohere Centre in Ottawa.
The RCDSB could not be more proud of this group. They represented Fellowes High School with respect, integrity, enthusiasm, and professionalism throughout the day.

Friday’s Ultimate Frisbee tournament was a great day all around for both of our Fellowes’ teams. Our rookies, the junior squad, got their feet wet and looked primed and ready for next year! The senior squad had a solid run, making it all the way to semi-finals by defeating Valour in the quarters. Unfortunately, they faced a tough Jeanne Lajoie team in the semis and while they took some points from them, it wasn’t enough. Still, this result was one of the best for the Falcons and sets the stage for an epic encore showdown next fall.

Today is National Custodial Workers’ Recognition Day, and we want to thank the people who keep our school safe, clean, and ready every day.
Long before students walk through the door and long after everyone else has gone home, our custodial team is there. They sweep floors, sanitize classrooms, clear snow from walkways, and fix small repairs before anyone even notices something was wrong. It is easy to overlook this work precisely because it is done so well.
To our custodial team: thank you. Thank you for your hard work, your attention to detail, and the pride you take in every space you care for. Our school would not be the same without you!

Yesterday, our senior tennis players took to the court in Renfrew to try to book their tickets to EOSSAA. While many of them made it to quarterfinals play, sadly none of them are moving on next week. However, as you can tell by the photos, they sure had a lot of fun! I mean, what’s more fun than no rain, a day on the court, matching tennis outfits, and cool action shots?? Coaches Barrett and Ryan are proud of your efforts and enthusiasm. You represented your school with pride!

Congratulations to the first group of students who were awarded for having perfect attendance for the month of September! Olivia was the grand prize winner, taking home a pair of Apple AirPods. Grayson was one consolation winner (JBL speaker), and Madison was the other consolation winner (cafeteria vouchers).
Every student who had perfect attendance for the month (only excused absences and no lates) was eligible to win these prizes, and there were hundreds of students who met this criteria! October’s prizes for perfect attendance include 4 tickets and a parking pass to the Ottawa Senators game against the Washington Capitals on Tuesday, November 10th and a $50 gift card from Starbucks.
Congratulations again to Olivia, Grayson, and Madison!

Renfrew played host to UOVHSAA junior tennis yesterday and our Falcons put on quite a show. Team McKenna (McKenna Barrett and McKenna Crigger) went undefeated and took home the gold medal in girls’ doubles. No less impressive were Levi Saffery and Oliver Bardis in boys’ doubles. They had a tough final game and fought hard to come away with silver. All four players have qualified for EOSSAA in Kingston next Tuesday.
