🌻 Meet Pablo — easygoing, happy, and full of love

Pablo is a gentle soul who absolutely loves playing with his doggie friends and being close to his people. While he is generally calm and relaxed, he gets so excited when you come home that he bounces around just like a slinky!

✈️ Arriving in Vancouver: Late September

📍 Current Location: Valladolid, Mexico

🐾 About Pablo:
• Age/Gender: ~2 years old, Male (vet estimate)
• Size: Small (8.3 kg) — a perfect little bundle!
• Good with: Dogs and Kids! He met cats once and showed no interest.
• House-trained / Leash: Yes to both! He walks beautifully.
• Energy: Moderate (Calm in general, but joyfully energetic when greeting his people)

🏥 Health:
Pablo is healthy and has no ongoing medical issues.

💙His Story:
Pablo has a bit of a strange rescue story! Danielle saw a Facebook post about a little dog rescued from almost being hit in traffic. The lady who found him said he was clean, recently groomed, and wearing a bandana around his neck, so she assumed he was a lost pet. When she tracked down where he had been groomed, the vet told her that a woman had found him on the streets, brought him in to be washed and styled, and then immediately abandoned him back on the street. Danielle stepped in to save him and looked for his owners but no one ever claimed him.

🌏 Adoption Locations:
Vancouver • Vancouver Island • Sunshine Coast • Lower Mainland • Okanagan

🏡 Ideal Home:
Pablo doesn’t like being left home alone. He will thrive best in a home with another dog to keep him company, and with adopters who are retired or work from home. He loves car rides and is ready for all your daily adventures!

✨ All adoptions include a two-week trial period to ensure the best fit.

📌 Official adoption post from APACCCValladolid Rescue

WE ARE BACK!!! And Danielle has been very busy! 🐾

Burnout in dog rescue is very real, and our team took a much-needed break to recharge. Unfortunately, rescue work never stops, and this wasn’t a luxury afforded to Danielle. She has continued working tirelessly on the ground for the cats and dogs of Valladolid. Danielle’s unwavering devotion inspires us every day. 💛

Please note that unfortunately, we aren’t quite back at full speed or full strength just yet. A couple of our incredible team members are unable to return right now due to unexpected life circumstances, though we are crossing our fingers to have them back with us in the next few months! Because of this, our social media updates might be a little quieter than usual, and it may take us a bit longer to reply to your messages. Please know that behind the scenes, we are still here and doing absolutely everything we can to support Danielle and this beautiful cause that means the world to all of our hearts.

Here is a look at some of what Danielle has been doing over the last few months:

Co-sponsored a Mass Spay/Neuter Day where 290 dogs and cats were successfully sterilized on March 22nd! She also recently helped a local family sterilize four street dogs they feed, with six more scheduled through the municipal free clinic.

Sponsored treatment for Simba, a family dog battling TVT (a sexually transmitted cancer). The family lacked resources, so Danielle drove the pup for chemo and covered the vet costs. The grateful family touched Danielle’s heart by gifting her honey and limes to show their appreciation!

Said a heartbreaking goodbye to her beloved rescue dog, Daphnée, on Easter Sunday due to an inoperable tumor. She also provided a peaceful end to suffering for 2 very sick, untreatable, and abandoned dogs who were suffering from severe neglect. 💔

After a tourist reported a sweet senior dog in distress, Danielle searched for three weeks to find him. After many vet visits, Jupiter is now safe, healthy, and living out his remaining days with Danielle.

Rescued a super adorable Benji lookalike! Danielle had read on FaceBook that someone found Pablo after he was nearly hit by a car, took him for a bath/microchip check, and then released him back into the streets. Danielle found him, rescued him, and searched for his family, but was unsuccessful.

Picked up a sweet, young pup, Judy, from a friend’s home after she showed up one day, and immediately took her to be spayed.

Rescued three little puppies, Amélie, Anaïs, and Simone, from deplorable conditions. Amélie had a huge lump on her head, which the vet feels is likely from a blow from a human, but thankfully there is no neurological damage and it will gradually go away. The girls are now thriving and despite human unkindness, they absolutely love people!

Rescued sweet, young Matias who was full of fleas, ticks, his skin was so unhealthy and he had anemia. Matias is now healthy, happy and ready to find his new forever family.

Welcomed Lili (who has a neurological disorder) and tiny Mushu (rescued from the streets by a friend who felt he was too little to survive on his own) into her care. Mushu is currently being treated for Ehrlichia, and Lili is receiving extensive testing and therapy to improve her quality of life.

Helped her friend Karen with Eva, a young street dog who was severely injured and unable to walk. Danielle and Karen took Eva to multiple specialist appointments and fundraised to purchase a custom wheelchair for her!

Our beautiful girl, Esmeralda, recently underwent hip dysplasia surgery and is recovering at Danielle’s house. This required Danielle to make the 5-hour return trip to Tulum three separate times.

Danielle and friends marched in an anti-cruelty walk and participated in an adoption and a pet care information event.

Danielle also partnered with a local women's advocacy group to fight a rash of street dog and pet poisonings, meeting twice with the municipal president to enforce animal protection laws.

Danielle took a brief and bittersweet trip to Canada in April to help her sister pack up and sell their childhood lakeside recreation home.

🎉READY FOR ADOPTION!🎉

We are thrilled to share that these amazing dogs are ready for their forever homes:

Noelle (Coming to Canada at the end of September!):
Our little ray of sunshine has officially finished her Ehrlichia treatments and is healthy, happy, and ready to spread joy!

Pablo (Coming to Canada at the end of September!):
Safe, healthy, and ready for his new chapter!

Eva (Will travel to Canada once she has an approved home!):
Our resilient wheelie girl is vaccinated, thriving, and ready for a family of her own.

Please keep your eyes on our page. We will be posting official adoption profiles for Noelle, Pablo, and Eva very soon, alongside updates on Mushu, Janet, Jupiter, Lili, Amelie, Anaïs, Simone, Matias and their friends.

Thank you all so much for standing by us and supporting our mission. We couldn't do this without you. 🐾💕

📢 Update on Noelle

Following her most recent vet visit and routine bloodwork, Noelle’s results showed she still has very mild anaplasmosis and ehrlichia. She has already completed a full 30-day course of doxycycline, which is typically sufficient, but as part of our standard protocol before travel, we retested her to ensure she was fully cleared.

Based on these results, Noelle requires an additional 30 days of antibiotics to fully clear the infection. These are common, treatable tick-borne infections, and she is expected to make a full recovery.

Noelle is feeling great and in wonderful spirits. She will be retested after treatment, and once she receives a clean bill of health, she’ll be cleared to travel and begin her next chapter in Canada 💛🐾

We will repost Noelle when she is ready to start her new life and begin accepting applications at that time.

Thank you for your patience and for supporting us in always putting our dogs’ health first.

💜 Rescue Story
On Christmas Day, Danielle Michon was driving through a small village about an hour outside of Valladolid on her way to pick up rescue crates arriving in Cancún.

As she passed through the village, she noticed a small dog completely bald, pink, and suffering from severe mange. Danielle stopped to offer food and water and administered NexGard before continuing her journey.

But she couldn’t stop thinking about the little dog. Danielle knew that without help, she would continue to suffer and likely would not survive.

On December 29, despite being unwell herself, Danielle made the two-hour round trip back. With the help of Marty Osorio, she was able to safely capture the dog, now named Noelle.

They immediately took her to a local veterinarian for a full examination. Later, Danielle drove five hours round trip to Tulum so Noelle could see a specialist vet and begin treatment.

Today, Noelle has fully recovered and is ready to start the next chapter of her life with a loving family.

🐾✈️ Rescue Journey – Mexico to Canada 🇲🇽❤️🇨🇦

On March 9, five very special pups began a life-changing journey from Mexico to Canada — and it truly took a village to get them here safely.

Flavio (now D**o/Diego), Lila, Arturo (now Finn), Ruby (now Lilo), and Emilio (now Scuttle) have now arrived and begun their next chapters. Some went straight into loving homes, while others started in foster care before quickly finding their forever families. Seeing them finally get the lives they deserve is what rescue is all about. 🐾❤️

A huge thank you to our amazing flight angels Kathy and Tony, who volunteered their time to es**rt these pups on their journey to safety.

The pups’ journey had several unexpected bumps — flight delays, weather challenges, crate issues, missed cutoffs, and even a mechanical delay. Yet thanks to the kindness, flexibility, and determination of so many people, every dog reached their next destination safely.

💛 Our rescue village made this possible:

✨ Kathy and Tony – for your incredible dedication and for serving as amazing flight angels. After arriving very late, they took four puppies home overnight and were back up just 3.5 hours later to continue the journey. Tony even accompanied Diego to Nanaimo, while Kathy spent hours making multiple airport runs and foster drop-offs to get every pup safely where they needed to go.

✨ Pauline – for meeting the flight, giving Diego a place to stay overnight, and getting up early so he could continue his journey.

✨ Mariel – for helping with our late-night airport arrival.

✨ Jackie – for picking up crates and helping to care for four puppies overnight before they headed to their homes and fosters the next morning.

✨ SeaIr Seaplanes staff Claudia and Carlos, and pilots Kelly and Erwan – for going above and beyond to help get Diego on his flight despite delays and crate complications.

✨Pacific Coastal Airlines staff Onkar and Nafeez – who showed incredible kindness by accepting Arturo (Finn) after cutoff and making sure he was cared for and safely boarded despite a mechanical delay.

✨ Our incredible fosters Monique and Kara, and our adopters – for opening your homes and hearts.

✨ Danielle Michon – for your tireless work helping the dogs of Valladolid every single day.
Rescue like this only happens because people care and work together for dogs who deserve a second chance.

💛 Behind every safe arrival is hours of unseen effort, sacrifice, and people who refuse to give up on dogs who deserve a chance.

🇨🇦 Welcome to Canada D**o, Lila, Finn, Lilo, and Scuttle. ❤️🐾
