Shelby Ranch is located at 753 Durham Road in Scotsburn, Nova Scotia. We are a Western riding facility that offers a variety of services for beginner to intermediate riders from ages 2 to senior. Ride one of our safe, patient horses in our indoor arena or explore beautiful forest trails. Send us a message to book a private or small-group riding lesson or trail ride, available 7 days a week. Ask us about our lesson packages, therapeutic riding program, wagon and sleigh rides, riding membership, and birthday parties.

If you know Shelby, you know how much Lexus means to her. She’s her heart horse, and the bond between them is something special. 🤎
But Lexus has a way of choosing a few little people to share that big heart with, too. She’s taught so many kids to ride over the years, and watching her switch from performance pony to patiently looking after a little one never gets old. She truly knows who’s on her back.
Today, she heard Abby’s voice, popped her head up, and came straight over to her. Abby didn’t have to do anything else; Lexus knew her person was there. 🥹
Crisp fall air, the creak of saddle leather, and the best view between two ears. Could stay here all day. 🍂

When a child looks into a horse’s eye, they don’t see limits they see friendship, confidence and a whole new adventure.
Every child deserves the opportunity to discover something they love. KidSport or Jumpstart funding is available to help eligible families cover the cost of qualifying children’s programs at Shelby Ranch.
🗓️ The upcoming application deadline is October 1st
Applications and funding decisions are handled directly by KidSport and Jumpstart, but we’re happy to provide the Shelby Ranch program information you may need for your application.
