Angling4Autism provides exclusive fishing opportunities for families in the autism community.
Our inaugural River Giants Family Fishing Experience was a huge success this past weekend! This was our first entry into a freshwater fishery, bringing eight families together for a full day on the Fraser River. I’d like to thank Chris from Bluewater Rockies Sportfish Guiding Co. and his team of guides for collaborating with us on this amazing opportunity. These guys are a first class operation who put our families on the fish and adapted to everyone’s needs. I was beyond impressed! An equal shout out to Canucks Autism Network for spearheading the registration process for us. THANK YOU!

This was a personal trip but with some amazing sponsors who have become great friends. We went for tuna, venturing offshore in search of a blend of blue warm water and chlorophyll but the latter just wasn’t there and neither were the fish. But we managed to get into some beautiful chinook and coho salmon with an odd bycatch of horse mackerel. It’s trips like these that remind me of the reach A4A has had and the relationships garnered. It’s truly an amazing circle of people who support us. Thank you!

Another epic day on the water with our A4A Day Programs! We’ve had families from as far as Salmon Arm and the Okanagan come out to take part which really speaks to our reach and the demand. We are truly appreciative of all of our donors and sponsors who make this programming possible!

I had the pleasure and honor to be invited to present at the inaugural 100 Women+ Who Care Vancouver gathering earlier this week. Meeting three times a year, each member contributes $100 per gathering resulting in a collective contribution of $10,000 to one of three presenting charities. Although we didn’t receive the majority vote, I left knowing I created awareness and introduced 100 more people to A4A. I’m grateful to those members who the next day, made monetary donations to our society through our donation page. I truly appreciate the support! Congrats to Food Stash Foundation for being the winning recipient!
