What are you doing this ProD Day? At the library, we will be having screen-free coding fun with the Code and Go Robot Mouse. Drop in to the library between 2:00 and 3:00 PM on Friday, September 25. Help a maze-navigating mouse find the cheese! Suitable for ages 5-9 accompanied by a caregiver.

Are you a young writer, aged 11-18? Enter the Scary Story Contest and haunt us with horrifying tales drawn from the depths of your imagination. Also, you can win prizes!

The contest is open to youth living or going to school in Coquitlam, Port Moody, Port Coquitlam, Anmore, or Belcarra. Write 500 words or less of original frightening fiction, using the words SHRIEK, DESICCATED, and UNNATURAL as a part of your story.

To enter, email [email protected], include your story as text in the body of the email (no attachments). Be sure to include your name, age, city of residence/school, and phone number with your message.

Deadline: 11:59 PM, Sunday, October 18, 2026.
Prizes: Gift card to Coquitlam Centre Mall. $50 for 1st place, $30 for 2nd place, $20 gift for 3rd place in each age category (11–14 and 15–18).

Teens - Are you in grades 9 to 12 and interested in volunteering at the library? Join the Terry Fox Library Teen Advisory Group (TAG)! Drop in to our Volunteer Orientation session from 2:00 to 3:30 PM on Saturday, September 12, to find out more about TAG.

At the session, you'll learn how you will earn volunteer hours by helping us run fun events and activities for kids, including: Nintendo Switch parties or STEAM programs, as well as get some hands on experience with equipment we use. Also, there will be snacks!
