S E R V E. L I K E. J E S U S.
The kingdom consistently flips the world’s values on their head. The world seeks power, status, protection, revenge, and self-promotion. Jesus calls His people to service, humility, forgiveness, sacrifice, love for enemies, and the making known of His name. The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many.
The kingdom calls each heart away from asking God to bless already-made choices and toward asking God to transform it for His work. The question comes home personally: before asking for God’s kingdom in Canada, Port Perry, or Emmanuel, is His kingdom ruling within?

🌱 The body of Christ grows as every part does its own special work. Paul planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth, and that means faithfulness still matters.
Empty ground cannot be watered into fruitfulness when nobody plants.
The question is not whether every person can do everything, but what part God has given each person to do.

💛 Every Part Belongs: No Hand or Foot Left Behind! 💛
Paul gives the church a picture that is simple and really clear: one body, many parts. The body is not made up of one part, and no part gets to decide that it does not belong just because it is not like another part. The foot does not stop belonging because it is not a hand. The ear does not stop belonging because it is not an eye. God has placed every part in the body “just as he wanted,” so every person has a place, every gift matters, and every age has something real to bring.
The body of Christ thrives when every member—whether visible or unseen—recognizes their irreplaceable role. Paul’s analogy of hands, feet, eyes, and ears dismantles hierarchies, insisting that belonging isn’t earned but given. A child’s laughter during VBS, a senior’s prayer, or a teen’s tech-savvy creativity all hold equal weight in God’s design. When one part dismisses its value, the whole body limps.
Unity isn’t uniformity but a mosaic of gifts working in rhythm. To reject comparison is to honor the God who stitches us together.
“The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ. Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit.”
(1 Corinthians 12:12–13, NLT)
🪞Reflection: When have you felt like an “unnecessary” part of the body? How might God be inviting you to affirm someone else’s irreplaceable role this week?
