Thanks for the spotlight Christine! We got a request for help late on Friday, and the truck with 2 members left about 5am Saturday. One member from Beaverly Fire Rescue and one from Salmon Valley Fire Dept. Sharing resources in more ways than one!!

Father’s Day Pancake Breakfast is back!! Come and join us at the Hall on Fathers Day, June 21 from 9-12 for pancakes, sausages, eggs, and fruit. Thanks so much to Fortis, Beaverly PetroCan, and Go Team Professional Training for sponsoring the breakfast this year!

As in past years, we will have the Fire Boot out to collect donations to a local charity (charity to be determined at a later date).

It’s training day today! You’ll see us out and about with our colleagues from BC Forests Wildfire Services, along with Apparatus and Members from other communities. Being prepared is key, and we appreciate all the people involved in making this training happen today.

A big THANK YOU to neighbors for allowing us access to your properties so that we can practice procedures that would need to be put in place in the event of a real wildfire!

Sometimes things don’t go as planned - that’s why our crew trains regularly 😊

We’ve had five calls for grass fires in the last two weeks. Campfire bans are not on yet, but if you do decide to have a backyard fire, please ensure someone stays with it at all times, you have a hose nearby, put it out completely if it gets really windy or when you are all done, and call for help immediately if it starts to spread. We’d rather come and have you not need us than have it get away from you. Those trees are dry!!!

Prince George Blackwater Community Connection

Hello Beaverly Fire and Rescue area residents! We’ve had some members leave the hall for other adventures over the last number of months, and are finding ourselves a little short. Though no one is ever really replaceable, we are looking for some new members!

Aside from providing value added services, we need to maintain, at a minimum, 15 members so that Beaverly Fire area residents can continue to receive favourable insurance premiums. If you are 19 or older, can commit to joining us most Tuesday evenings for training, and have some time and flexibility in your schedule to respond to calls for assistance and to help with Hall chores, we would love to meet you and give you more details. No special training or education level is required, we take care of making sure you gain the knowledge and skills you need.

Since this is a volunteer Hall there is no pay, but as long as you meet the minimum volunteer hour requirement you may qualify for the annual income tax credit - refer to CRA for details.
