Authentic Connection Counselling

Because ACC is a private practice we can offer flexible evening hours and a sliding fee scale. Counselling is offered by Rena Koon, a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a MEd in Counselling as well as additional training in DBT, Narrative Therapy and treating complex trauma. Rena hold certification in CCTP level 1 and 2 (Certified Complex Trauma Practicioner) ICS (Indigenous Cultural Safety) and is a registered provider for the FNHA (First Nations Health Authority) as well as a authorized vendor for ICBC. At the intake appointment we will talk about what you can expect during counselling and determine if the therapist and the client are a good fit. The intake appointment generally takes about 20 to 30 minutes. Sessions are 50 minutes in length and are either online or by telephone. Online sessions are conducted through the telehealth section of the Jane clinic management app. Telephone sessions are conducted over secure landline. Sessions can be weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. Some extended health plans cover counselling as a benefit, however at this time counsellors are not able to direct bill most extended healthcare plans. I am a registered provider for the First Nations Health Authority and am able to submit claims directly for qualifying clients.
