Inukrock
We are a non-for-profit organization based in Inukjuak, Nunavik, supporting the development of rock climbing through youth leadership.
Last month, our team took some time for a fishing trip as a team-building activity! 🎣
It was great to spend time together, be on the land, and enjoy being close to nature.
For us, this is also connected to what we love about climbing. Being active outdoors, spending time on the land, sharing experiences, and building relationships are all important parts of the wellbeing we want to promote through Inukrock. 🧗♀️🌿
We love finding different ways to be outside together, and we hope to enjoy many more outings like this with our partner Sirivik!
(Will you guess how many catch we got ? 🐟)

At Inukrock, climbing is only one of the many skills our field staff get to develop! 🧗
Throughout their work with us, our team has opportunities to learn and explore different areas - from climbing to administration and even drone piloting! 🚁
We’re always looking for new opportunities for our x to learn, try new things, and build skills that can be useful well beyond climbing.
And with some new drone pilots on the team… we hope to have some nice footage to share with you soon! 👀

Today, on World Su***de Prevention Day, our thoughts are with all Nunavimmiut affected by su***de - those we have lost, their families, friends, communities, and everyone who continues to carry their memory. ❤️
Nunavik is particularly affected by su***de, and this day is an important reminder of the need to support one another, talk openly about mental health, listen without judgment, and make sure people know that asking for help is always welcomed.
At Inukrock, our psychosocial approach is part of the way we work with youth. Through climbing, time on the land, teamwork, individual support and simply spending time together, we try to create spaces where young people can feel connected, valued and supported - and where asking for help is welcomed.
Today, we stand wholeheartedly with the people of Nunavik. Prevention is something we can all be part of — by checking in, listening, being present and connecting people with support when they need it.

Bye bye, Ivujivik, for the season! 👋🧗
What a great summer! We had so many amazing climbing activities, with over 100 participants joining us throughout the season.
We’re especially proud to have welcomed two new employees from Ivujivik to the Inukrock team this summer. They did an amazing job helping make the activities happen while continuing to build local climbing skills and leadership in the community. 💪
A big thank you to our consultants & everyone who climbed with us, helped out and made this summer such a memorable one!
We’re looking forward to sharing more with you soon about Inukrock’s journey in Ivujivik - how the activities have grown, the progress we’ve made together, and the incredible achievements that made this summer so special. Stay tuned! 👀
We’re already looking forward to being back in Ivujivik this fall for the AGM. Until then, see you next season! 🙌

🧗 Bouldering in Inukjuak!
We went out to explore a different way of climbing anxd discover some of the bouldering opportunities around Inukjuak.
The training we received from Nicolas and Synthia last year has been really helpful in giving us more knowledge and confidence to explore bouldering. We learned how to : how to get warmer while climbing and after it, secure the crashpads, to fall, to develop blocs, to organize bloc activity with kids and so much more !
For us, it’s important to keep learning and developing different ways of climbing.
It’s also a great opportunity to discover different parts of the land, spend time outside together, and see all the beauty - and climbing possibilities - that are around us.
There is still so much to explore! 🙌
Thanks you Mad Rock Canada for the deals, we really appreciate it ! 🔥
Making homemade spaghetti and a cake for Martha’s birthday! 🎂🍝
As we often do, we’re making extra portions so Sirivik can share them with other members of the community. We’re even using some fresh tomatoes from the greenhouse! 🍅
For climbing and sports, good nutrition matters too. Wellbeing is not only about being active - it’s also about our everyday habits, including what we eat. Cooking healthy homemade food together is another way to learn, share skills and take care of ourselves and each other.
We’re happy to keep building this meaningful partnership with Sirivik, connecting food, wellbeing and community.
Stay tuned for the results!

Climbing has been going strong in Ivujivik since June! 🧗♀️
Our consultant, Samuel, has been there throughout the summer to support the activities, and we still have a few more weeks to go! Since 2024, it’s been amazing to see a growing community of climbers taking shape. And we have to say… the girls are definitely taking over the crag! 💪
Throughout the summer, instructors, animators, and mentors from our Inukjuak team also spend a few weeks in Ivujivik, sharing their experience and helping local climbers build the skills and autonomy to keep climbing and leading activities in their own community.
More and more young climbers are building their skills, confidence, and independence - and we love seeing the climbing community in Ivujivik continue to grow.
Girl power in Ivujivik! 🙌
