Most manufacturers are facing the same hiring and labor challenges.

Open admin positions sit vacant for months, so the work gets absorbed by customer service, accounting and sales — people who were hired to do something else entirely.

AI agents change the question. Not "which tool do we buy," but "what job needs doing?"

Order entry is the clearest example. A PO arrives by email, the agent pulls the part numbers, quantities and dates, validates them against the ERP and creates the order. Anything unusual gets flagged for a human. One manufacturer went from roughly 12 minutes per PO to 90 seconds, with about 80% needing no intervention at all.

Start with one well-defined task, not a whole department.

Un bon de commande arrive par courriel, l'agent en extrait les numéros de pièces, les quantités et les dates, les valide dans l'ERP et crée la commande. Tout ce qui sort de l'ordinaire est signalé à un employé. Un fabricant est passé d'environ 12 minutes par bon de commande à 90 secondes, avec près de 80 % des commandes traitées sans aucune intervention.
