🚒 CFRC is at the Alberta First Responders Career Fair!

Truck 7 is on display, and our staff and alumni are spending the day meeting prospective future students, answering questions, and sharing what training — and a career in the fire service — can look like.

Of course, we couldn’t just set up a booth and call it a day… so we brought a little friendly competition too. 💪🔥

Our push-up challenge is underway, the leaderboard is up, and guests, alumni, and CFRC staff have all been stepping up to see where they rank.

🚒 Welcome to the CFRC, Class 263FF! 🔥

A new class is officially underway at the Canadian Fire Rescue College!

Class 263FF has arrived on campus, received their uniforms and turnout gear, and is already getting into the rhythm of life at the CFRC. This morning started the way many mornings here will — with PT, teamwork, and a little hard work before the training day even begins.

We also took the opportunity to get the crew together in front of Truck 14, a piece of fire service history that makes for a pretty fitting backdrop as these students begin their own journey into the profession.

Over the coming weeks, Class 263FF will be challenged physically and mentally as they build the skills, discipline, confidence, and teamwork required of a firefighter.

🚨 URGENTLY HIRING: Lead Cook / Kitchen Manager 🚨

The Canadian Fire Rescue College is seeking a reliable and experienced Lead Cook / Kitchen Manager to join our team in Springbrook, Alberta.

This is a permanent, full-time salaried position offering:

✅ Annual salary of $43,680–$51,000, based on experience and qualifications
✅ Employer-sponsored Blue Cross benefits
✅ Two weeks of paid vacation to start
✅ Consistent Monday-to-Friday schedule
✅ Extended non-instructional periods between training programs
✅ Independent kitchen-management role
✅ Free staff meals when meals are being served

The successful candidate will independently manage our campus kitchen, including menu planning, food ordering, inventory control, budgeting, meal preparation, buffet service, and kitchen sanitation.

This position is ideal for an experienced institutional cook, camp cook, school cook, kitchen manager, or culinary professional who is organized, dependable, cost-conscious, and comfortable preparing meals for groups.

We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible, with a preferred start date of August 17, 2026.
