❤️Health today. Bright tomorrows. ❤️
I am thrilled to share that CH Seda’s Radiant Ruby “Rici” has completed her OFA health testing and has earned her CHIC #224097!
And what beautiful results they are — OFA Excellent hips, Normal elbows, Normal patellas, Normal cardiac and Normal eyes. ❤️
For me, preservation breeding is about so much more than producing the next litter. It is about making thoughtful decisions based on health, structure, temperament and breed type — and Rici represents so much of what I hope to preserve for the generations that follow.
With her Canadian Championship completed and her health testing now behind her, we are excited to include Rici in our 2027 breeding plans. If all goes as hoped, perhaps next year there will be a few little Rubies of her own. ❤️
A very special thank you to Susan and Terry, who love Rici as their own, believe in what I am trying to accomplish at Seda, and continue to support her place in my breeding program. Havanese like Rici remind me that none of this happens alone — it truly takes a community, and I am so grateful for hers. Thank you to Dan and Miranda, who share their home with Rici’s mama, Tobi; Kelly, Paul and family, who share their lives with her daddy, Leo; and my friend and fellow Havanese enthusiast Yvette of Wyntr’Gem Havanese, who stepped in to help Rici earn those final championship points when other demands kept me from the show ring.
Healthy dogs. Thoughtful breeding. Brighter tomorrows. ✨

How fun is this?
Beau and Teddy recently got together for a little play session after their pre-agility class — and these two Seda cousins are lucky enough to get to see each other regularly. 🥰
Beau is from our Celestial Soirée litter, Celeste × Pino, and Teddy is from our Step Into The Circle litter, Dolly × Phoenix.
But the family connection doesn’t stop with the puppies! Beau’s human mom and Teddy’s human dad are siblings, so these two boys landed right within the same extended family. ❤️
I absolutely love that. Two Seda puppies from two different litters, growing up alongside one another, taking classes together and getting plenty of opportunities to play.
Cindy tells me that Teddy is a very quick learner, and judging by these two already attending pre-agility classes, I suspect we’re going to have fun watching what they both get up to as they grow. 🐾
And for anyone who enjoys following our Seda kids beyond puppyhood, both Teddy and Beau have their own Instagram pages, so you can follow along with their adventures there too.
Their family sent me this after their latest get-together:
“They are both growing up to be such sweet boys.” 🩷
I couldn’t ask for much more than that.
Two litters. Two cousins. One family. And a whole lot of Seda. ❤️

I received this lovely update from Brenda recently about two of our senior Seda kids — Reid and Roxy.
Reid is now 13 years old, a Jenga × Cayo son, and Roxy is 11, from Ella × Cane.
Reid earned his Canadian Championship when he was younger. During his health testing we discovered mitral valve disease, and he was immediately removed from our breeding program. Today his heart disease is advanced, but most importantly, Brenda tells me he is comfortable, loved beyond measure, and still very much lovable Reid. ❤️
His hearing may not be quite what it used to be, but apparently his ability to charm everyone remains completely intact. 🥰
And Roxy? At 11, Brenda says she is “as spunky as ever.” That sounds about right! 😂
And I have to give Brenda some serious credit for the beautiful care she gives these two. She has kept her Havanese in gorgeous full coats for years — no small undertaking! Roxy is still sporting hers beautifully, while at 13, Reid has graduated to what I affectionately call the “comfort cut.” 🤣 He had just been groomed when Brenda sent this update and, in her words, they were “looking suave.” ❤️
These senior updates mean so much to me. Watching our Seda puppies become cherished companions, then seeing them grow into these beautiful old souls, is one of the most meaningful parts of breeding.
Thirteen and eleven years later — still loved, still beautiful, and most importantly, still very much themselves. ❤️

Karen and Rob have three Seda Havanese — Andy, Stewie and Taffy — and all three are Magic kids. ❤️
Andy is the oldest and he is a particularly special little soul. He is gentle, kind and remarkably intuitive — one of those dogs who seems to understand far more than we give them credit for. His pedigree brings together four different Cuban lines, something I treasure in our breeding program, and there is just something about this boy. ❤️
He also happens to be quite the communicator. 😂
Andy LOVES FaceTime and will get right up close to the camera when Karen is talking on her phone. But judging by these photos, I think this particular conversation was less “Who are you talking to?” and more:
“Mom. Put the phone down. It’s time for a walk.”
Apparently Andy made a compelling argument, because off to the lake they went. 😂❤️
And then there’s Stewie…
Karen sent me the photo of the boys on the couch with this explanation:
“Stewie takes Andy’s favourite toy and taunts him — Andy’s giving him the double paw pump.”
🤣🤣🤣
Poor gentle Andy. Stewie, meanwhile, appears to have concluded that personal boundaries are entirely optional.
These updates make me smile so much. They may all be Magic kids, but each one has such a distinct personality — and I love getting these little windows into the lives they share with their families. ❤️
Clever, funny, intuitive little dogs. That’s Havanese.

Sometimes the right home comes along while you’re still trying to decide whether you’re ready to let go.
I’ve been waffling back and forth for quite some time about whether Kit would stay here with me or whether I would find that special home where she could be someone’s very loved little girl.
Then I met Brett and Donna.
They recently lost their beloved Havanese, Cricket, and their home has felt far too empty without a dog in it. When they came to meet us, Brett sat down on the floor of my back entry and was immediately surrounded by Havanese, happily soaking up every bit of attention they could give him. 😂
I always say that I may be the judge, but my dogs are definitely the jury. And the jury approved. ❤️
Kit has now joined Brett and Donna’s family, where she is going to be thoroughly loved and spoiled—and, much to my amusement, she also gets to become a snowbird! ☀️❄️ Apparently Kit has arranged her retirement lifestyle rather well.
She was very bonded to me, so she is still finding her footing and learning that these wonderful new people are her people now. Donna is already well on her way into Kit’s heart, while Brett is having to work just a little harder for her affections. 😉 I have a feeling it won’t take long.
For a girl I wasn’t quite sure I could let go, it makes my heart happy to know she has landed with two genuinely lovely people who have been missing the companionship and joy that only a Havanese can bring.
Welcome to the Seda family, Brett and Donna. ❤️ And Kit… enjoy your new adventure, little one. 🐾☀️❄️

A lovely update on Shadow - previously known as Valor from our Celestial Soirée litter ❤️
His family says this “little guy steals the show wherever he goes”, and he recently had his first clip and handled it beautifully - isn’t he handsome!
Even more exciting, Shadow is being set up for his CD, with agility possibly in his future as well. I absolutely love seeing our puppies grow into dogs who are not only beautiful representatives of the breed, but also have the temperament, intelligence and willingness to work.
I’m so grateful to his family for loving him, believing in him, and giving him the opportunity to show just how versatile a Havanese can be. 🐾💕
I can’t wait to see where this little performance dog takes them next.
