We took some well deserved time off this platform lately but we have kept ourselves busy on the tools, will soon show all our projects that’s been on the go!
We’ve been quiet because things go unexpectedly side way sometimes and we have to stepped backwards or inwards. This time was on a personal level, but where were getting at is the importance of a community. My community showed up when i was down on my luck and i can’t be more thankful for it 🥹
For you, all of you, thank you! Thank you for your patience, thank you for your kindness, your words, your support, your actions and your smiles 🤓

Before July hits, let’s take a peak back in April! Yes this post is overdue!
I want to thank Lys at Revelstoke Mountaineer Magazine for approaching me and doing an interview about what Reframed as been up to!
Revelstoke has been so welcoming and supportive towards Reframed and it warms my heart to see it grow.
The amount of women who have shown interest into what we are doing, the ones who reached out to work with us and the ones that worked or are currently working for Reframed, i want to thank you ❣️
To be able to share my passion for building and to hear and see i can inspire some people while doing it is the biggest byproducts of the endeavour!
I’ve never intended to make Reframed a women-only construction company and i’m still very open to anyone who just wants to work with us!

I was pretty young when my dad took me as his apprentice!
This man is the biggest inspiration in my life and this is why he needs a post on this page!
Pretty early on he taught me to be honest, fair, respectful but also fearless, bold and curious!
He’d always say and still says… PPP. With Patience and Perseverance it will Pay.
I’m happy to have been raised where trying new things was supported and recognized. I’m forever thankful of the role this man played in my life ❣️

I love tools 🖤🔨
There was a time in my life where i wasn’t allowing myself to buy power tools, one cause i’m was a young lady, a young lady shouldn’t need power tools and two cause they were expensive. I would try to make it work with what i had! I installed a lot of shelvings with just a screw driver!
Safe to say now; easy to convince me to buy a tool 🤓🔨
Well the idea that a young lady shouldn’t need tool is wrong and i got over that leap once i understood it could mean independence!
As for expensive, things hasn’t changed, tools are still expensive but my mind set behind it as. Back then i thought it was just a lot of money spent into tools now i think it’s money invested, cause those tools allow me to build and let me tell you, i want to build!
Now tell me, is there such a thing as to many tools?

The magic of CLT 🪄🏠
This picture was taken a few years back when we build a house for with Tree Construction. It was the only time i got the chance to be involved with crossed-laminated timber and it definitely had its challenges but wow, such a cool product 🤩

THROWBACK!
Looking back on the first project i made before making carpentry a career!
Back then, i had no clue how to build, this mini house was way above my comfort level and the only two tools i had was a makita drill and an obnoxiously loud corded skilsaw.
I watched hours and hours of video on youtube and call my father about so many questions.
There was definitely some rough time during the build but overall, i enjoyed the process, i liked to learn about all the new things and more than anything i loved seeing that little creation come to life.
In my opinion, knowing how to build is an undervalued skill, life is so much better when you can 🔨🔩🪚🪵🏠!

I never went into carpentry with the starting my own business in mind, that just happened!
Before going into construction i build a tiny home with the help of phone calls with my father and YouTube videos. I really enjoy the entire process of it. I was learning a lot and it was challenging me. I figured if i ever wanted to build my own home i’d better know a bit more so i apply for job and got it 🔨
Few years down the road i quit because i was doing major renovation at home and from there, people have been asking me to work on their projects. I never once wanted to push a construction company on myself, it really happened organically! I’m not saying it was easy with no hiccups, come on, that would be boring!
What i love about my job, i am constantly learning, constantly working with new material or playing with new tools and constantly challenged. 💃🔨
